.. at that point, society goes back to visiting with reasonable frequency, when hungry, one of this company's multitudinous establishments and has something to eat with chips ... as we have always done

Turnover decreased 23.7% to £71.2 million in Q3 2020 from £93.3 million in Q2 SY19.
Gross profit has decreased 27.5% from £54.0 million in Q2 SY19 to £42.6 million in Q3 2020.

Simple thesis..

Most people I know are desperate to go out for a meal with friends.

The Uk's largest Restaurant chain (outside of the American ones) fills up again after COvid-19 recedes.

China started mass vaccination programmes 2-3 months ago. Have been functioning as normal for a while now. First hand accounts and video footage. Shanghai and Wuhan included. The sidewalks and malls are packed, consumer confidence has returned - not everyone is even wearing a face mask there anymore.

What a bizarre price movement today

Abit of a wonky market today:

RTN was off 10% but now up 7%
SCS had plunged and currently off 6% but DFS was up in the morning and only off 1%
MARS off 9% but MAB only off 3%
TEG flat but BOWL off 4%
RFX off a tad whilst HAT continues to get absolutely hammered
TRN off 7%
IWG flatlining
Something very exposed like CARD only off 5%
Actually thought I was going to get clobbered on the likes of WIN, but bizarrely that is up on the day!

Clearly it's all relative. but you have to be nimble in this market as a trader, take your scalp and run at times because you can't be sure what is baked into each company valuation. I sure as hell don't know! :-D

Trying to form a view from today's actions suggests a lockdown of not much longer than a month. Can you trust this indecisive government though? A real yeah but no masterpiece conducted in U-turn city from those running the show. Hell, if you come out with absolutely dire death forecasts for the winter and are behind the curve on your forecast infections, why plug one leaking water hole and not plug the academic one, particularly when you know secondary school infections are absolutely on the march?

Further points:

Is the price action today going to match the barrage of "we are affected by x amount" in the coming days as per GVC and ABF today? Easy to be on the wrong side of that trade.

We also now have a sequence of bids coming in (HZD, TALK, MCS, WMH, GFS, AA, KAZ, LID) and are perhaps sending a signal that there is value on offer and more corporate activity will follow.

Did I mention the "Big E" over in the US (indicies have held support at the first attempt but can they continue to do so?) or the "Big B" over here?

Visited one of the pubs on Friday, was told that since ban on multiple households introduced they have seen a drop in the number of meals served by 75%.
Most, if not all, now have click and collect operational on food and on limited drinks menu.
Pubs in Wales are completely closed, but still doing click and collect.

No more than 6 indoors doesn’t bode well for the hospitality industry.

Sold the main body of my March 21p purchase at 61.7p, leaving me with just the 250 I keep for the shareholder perks FOC and a profit of 10%.

I can see this tumbling until there is more certainly, probably when a vaccine is available.

How the hell is this garbage company still alive?As 'dining experiences' their brands are truly awful.Food quality is atrocious ... it's all junk 'ding-ding' food for the muppet brigade.Better someone gives it the bullet & does all its customers a favour, imo.
