29/7/2010 09:11 | Any other good UK engineering companies? E.g. SPX.L | apad
29/7/2010 08:28 | Hear Hear, cellars. Just lost Chloride and SSL, don't want to lose this one. Also strong relationship with local community and workforce, which is incredibly supportive. However, the break up of the founders' shareholdings could ruin a good story. | apad
28/7/2010 19:25 | While I agree Mitutoyo would be a good home for RSW, I also note with approval the appointment of Bill Whiteley as Senior Independent Director. He is the retired CEO of Rotork, which is another excellent "independent" company run on a business philosophy similar to RSW's. It is a further pointer that succession planning is in hand at RSW and that Sir DM gets good people around him. A takeover is not the only possible way forward and the share price could rise for years after Sir DM's departure!! | cellars
28/7/2010 19:23 | Excellent results, what a recovery! | chrisgail
28/7/2010 07:28 | good results | the heed
18/7/2010 05:48 | MW Sir David M is well, well past retirement age. He dearly loves the business, but he can't go on for ever. He's a very clever man - so we must assume that he is giving this "ownership issue" some thought. A sale to an equally paternalistic owner as himself (possibly Japanese - think about Mitutoyo) would perhaps be his preferred option. | electronica
17/7/2010 22:26 | FT quotes brokers suggesting Renishaw as a take over target; could only be possible if it had been put up for sale as the main Directors have a majority stake?... | mw8156
12/7/2010 17:37 | Very steady climb in share price I suspect 'they' know that the results at the end of July will be good. | dennis russell
16/6/2010 15:24 | The Heed i-Pad? Its most unlikely that RSW would be involved directly. It has supplied probe based metrology equipment for plastic mouldings at Foxconn (the EMS manufacturers of the i-Pad), but that gear would have multiple customer uses. | electronica
16/6/2010 14:23 | Some odd buying here today.. | the heed
14/5/2010 11:22 | I think the breakthrough above £7.00 is very significant? | dennis russell
14/5/2010 07:46 | johnrmshares. Excellent interim management statement 14/5/10 as I said I see no real problem in regaining all time high. | chrisgail
09/3/2010 13:28 | Great Company. Doing very well (recovery) Profits going up, strong management to follow on. Mainly exporting, home market small, falling pounds boosting sales and profits. Share broken out of trading range 620p plus. All good news, in time I see no real problem in regaining all time high. | chrisgail
12/2/2010 09:01 | Great company Share price far too high Sell t/o per share 275p tangible assets 202p when ageing board members leave what will happen to share price / company most importantly UK government doing nothing to support embatterred engineering industry | johnrmshares
29/1/2010 19:01 | Posted on wrong thread. | nocton
27/1/2010 16:25 | fine result after a tough half-year. Should climb now. | dennis russell

10/6/2009 10:53 | Looks like everyone sold out in May. if there is anyone about, any ideas on where to and when? | cestnous
18/5/2009 17:55 | Wouldn't have thought that the IMS would have warranted a 40p rise today. IMHO the recovery in the share price is overdone. | sleveen
17/4/2009 17:25 | i GOT REALLY STUFFED HERE | philo124
17/4/2009 16:47 | richaims - we seem to have had a steady and strong recovery since you last posted. Something interesting going on? | dennis russell
31/3/2009 16:10 | As with one or two other shares, the consistency of the continuing downward trend suggests to me that it might be possible to buy these shares at a much lower price later this year. One to keep watching - it should be easy to spot any consistent future sustainable reversal of the downward trend. | richaims |
