10/10/2007 22:59 | I can't say I much like the idea of internecene warfare being bankrolled with my money. But not going to alter my position until we know a bit more about whats going on, difficult to take a view at present. | boffster
10/10/2007 22:18 | There's always tomorrow. | encarter
10/10/2007 16:05 | Does nobody else find it strange that todays news has had zero effect of the share price ? I mean, if there is another legal case, this is going to delay the company further and eat into their cash reserves somewhat. | pezza2
10/10/2007 14:18 | so who coming back in power!! whats happening about the alternative supply, delayed for another year. What a circus. sell the dog. not worth the hassle. | maestro4
10/10/2007 12:25 | If it came to the vote I would back Lewis. He has a vested interest which is more than can be said of the others | boffster
10/10/2007 11:44 | So from that RNS it can be speculated that Corvin was still working on feasability studies - but the Board pulled the plug on them. I just want them to sell the company for around NAV and be done with it - i.e 45 - 50 pence will do me. | omellete
10/10/2007 11:33 | somehow I feel that any institutional holders will want to see the current directors continue in their current course of action... no advice intended | robin_of_loxley
10/10/2007 11:31 | Ah well they can spend the shareholders money suing each other. | jonc
10/10/2007 11:29 | I cannot see how David Lewis will get control again - UNLESS - he does something about the share price. Has he got a backer who is holding? Obviously he has his own shares, but he may well have support. | omellete
10/10/2007 10:46 | Fight, fight!!! Interesting power struggle for the company. | omellete
10/10/2007 10:41 | interesting | robin_of_loxley
10/10/2007 10:39 | See RNS. The plot thickens. | boffster
04/10/2007 17:14 | Maetsro/larry - surely Jathropa is the way to go. If the finest minds at BP. declided on Jathropa - surely that is telling you which is the best way. BP can spend millions just on feasability studies - whereas RPL can spend max a few hundred K - IMO. | omellete
04/10/2007 15:00 | Looking forward to new life | larry63
04/10/2007 14:52 | growing there own jatropha will mean waiting around 2 years to harvest the plants. So long as they have a long term supply that should be good. And in the mean time just run on natural gas. D1 struck a nice deal with a MASSIVE partner. But rpl dont have the intelligence to negotiate a similar deal. New guys in will certainly refreshen things up.... | maestro4
04/10/2007 14:45 | Yes I did but you know what I wrote. Too much speculation/hope and I am very frustated right now. Safari is a small group but I believe they have more knowledge of the palm oil industry in Africa than anyone at RPL or the feedstock expert they could bring in. Cannot doubt the experience. That may be what Colvin bought into and is obviously why we are in this predicament. Jatropha would be nice but most of these ideas means they have to be grown. Even palm oil. So is RPL starting up farms now? An update would be great today or tomorrow. As for Energem they are in another league and obviously more established. RPL can definitely learn from them. | larry63
04/10/2007 14:40 | omellete rpl are still adament in using palm oil, while others eg D1 oils, eNergem are using jatropha. I believe they can get a deal for jatropha in Africa at very cheap prices. Lets wait and see. | maestro4
04/10/2007 14:11 | Maestro - Whilst most of Larrys post was good - he was wrong on Safari. Safari are small time players. Also he said there was false info posted on this board. I would sure like to see the false info. The court case docs show and prove that the muppet Corvin did not know what he was doing. However, I think in West Africa a deal can be done - like ENergem did | omellete
04/10/2007 14:10 | You are right it was not million of tons. Palm Oil they were trading was for food use domestically in the US where it was distributed to wholesalers and retailers. As well as via the internet direct to consumers. From my understanding they worked closely with several large producers in Africa and had access to the oil. The rise in price was what made it impossible to deliver at the contracted price since it is logical to think that the suppliers would raise their prices in a high demand market and screw to low profit deals like this one. No one predicted such a rise in prices, not even the most seasoned analyst. I recently read an article from major finance report where they expected palm oil prices to hit $580.00 USD per ton by end of 2008. I think we are well into the high $750.00 to 800.00 range today. Either way it sucks. | larry63
04/10/2007 14:08 | larry63 you seem to have amended your post!! | maestro4
04/10/2007 14:07 | larry63 "Do not expect any positive news from RPL anytime soon." you dont expect any positive news anytime soon, what makes you sure that ther will be changes in the next 2 weeks then. I have read the court papers and RPL do appear to have been fooled. Three directors have left, one of them i should note is a lawyer. Did they miss something? I dont think it wise to sell now as we are around the bottom end. 20p will sure be bottom. RPL dont have to use palm oil but can use jatropha aswell. As omllette pointed out energem found a sweet deal in africa which is costing them around $5m. | maestro4
04/10/2007 10:29 | larry63 - have you read the court case documents? Pretty obvious Safari could not deliver. I think the Palm Oil they have bene trading was for cosmetic use - so not millions of tonnes that RPL needed. Best way to get shareholder value right now is to sell the power stations and return the cash to the shareholder. I have already made my loss here back by T Trading another share for a profit at the same value as my loss - so not too bothered - but again like you will not wait for ever. Obvious - really sell the company and give the money back. No way should they continue spending shareholders money. They already said they were considering other deals - but 4 months and no action. Only thing saving this one is the NAV currently. | omellete
04/10/2007 10:13 | Do not expect any positive news from RPL anytime soon. As an investor RPL has proven that they do not know what they are doing and may not have the expertise to resolve the supply issue. | larry63 |
