"..It also sparked fears that Mr Tan, whose wealth on paper was estimated at £111 million as recently as April, may offload stock in Genemedix, steady at 28½p, where he holds 54 per cent, or TranXenoGen, unchanged at 99p, where he holds a significant stake..."

(From the overnight news item on KSB's dive)

Shorted GMX at 25p.

(At last night's close I think GMX were about £82m cap and TXN about £36m)

Even if he doesn't have to quickly find more cash to square his personal accounts or to meet bankers calls, the fear that he might should do some damage.

Even if he doesn't need to raise more money to square his personal accounts or meet banker's calls - the fear that he might will surely do some damage.

And even if this morning's immediate markdown is a trap, the ongoing story is downhill.

Gosh! A bit slow in here as well. Still, at least I've got some intelligent conversation for a change. Why thanks Dave, you're too kind. Now that nasty falling trend is well and truely over, we should see a gradual improvement in share price as sales revenues increase.. :)

FT today here's the editorial comment:

'Developing generic versions of drugs once they have gone off-patent might sound like a humble job but it has the potential to be very profitable. Over the next five years, drugs with annual sales of £40bn are expected to go off-patent. GeneMedix is well placed to profit from expanding demand in east Asia - meeting the insulin needs of the anticipated 100m Chinese and Indian diabetics by 2005 will be big business. The company's initial product GM CSF - is tiny by comparison, but observers will be looking at how sales shape up as a measure of whether the clever east Asia model will work. Companies with untested business models such as this are difficult to value. GHowever, based on discounted cash flow projections, Numis reckons the shares have a 10-year fair value of 100p compared with yesterday's close of 47 1/2p.....'

Very positive article in page 24 of today's FT. This company could really be something quite substantial in a few years. One thing is for sure; people will look back in five years at today's share and cry - only if. Numis reckons the shares have a fair value of 100p.

I think we'll see a steady improvement over the next few months. Now is a good time to invest. They've proven their business model and the floodgates of revenue are starting to creak open :)

Hi David

I hold a lot of these, my first purchase was during their OFEX days. It seems to me that this will be a substantial company and would not surprise if it turns out to be a 20 bagger. Recently I added to my holding using last years ISA allowance. Thinking about buying some more but feel safer to wait for some positive news first.

Someone just purchased 200,000 shares. Nice punt - looks like others are beginning to wake up this very interesting company.
