I take your point Andy.

Now I wonder what would happen if Singapore traders bought their shares here (for two thirds of the price) instead of locally. Seems like we will be moving toward parity soon.

Glass half full in Singapore, half empty in the UK

GMX closed + 12.06% on the Singapore stock exchange today, 23 February, at 0.785 - 0.795 cents.

Mid-price 79 cents is equivalent to 25p.

They obviously know what this share is about in Singapore.

GMX is a buy IMHO.

17 bid 18 offer is fair value before merger announcement. However, I'm waiting a the station on MDW for an announcement there too . If you go on to www.bio.org/ceo you will see that Bio-Tech is the new dotcom baby. High Risk/High Reward no widows, orphans or pensioners (I am none of these, so what the hell) Just got to follow my old rules
1. sell half on a double and play with someone else's money
2. never fall 'in love' with a stock
3. do your own research
4. don't be an investemnt mongrel
5. always, always, always have a stop loss

All IMHO.

andyprice5569 - are you doing an Evil Knievel on me ? :-) (seen you on IMG - good news or what?)

Having thought about it a little more I think the MM's are definitely looking to re-rate GMX's share price upwards from last Friday's close, but at the moment I think they are as puzzled as everyone else as to where to set it at, IMHO.

Amarone,

I too think 'dead cat' and if it reaches 21p again, I'll be shorting (possibly sooner).

Its a tough call:
possible 'buying' on short closing;
averaging down by mug punters;
or genuine belief that this is fair value!

From what the board (company) has said, negotiations will take some time regarding funding/listing in the US so I can only see this drifting lower (even if its shooting up today).

Be careful whichever way.

CaptainSpock,

Don't know what to think myself, other than Singapore were nowhere near as spooked as the UK and that we have now drifted back towards their closing price - the ubiquitous 25% differential. I still think they know more about what is going on.

Also have a look at the notifications made by Nomura over the last few days.

MM's are playing serious games with this one IMHO.

Yesterdays sudden sharp pullback caught everybody out & whilst today's recovery looks promising the price increase should signal an opportunity chance for those who missed getting out yesterday to get out at higher levels to do so & minimise losses, unlike myself who must admit panicked big time yesterday, by accepting a huge loss.

This one could easily still turn back down again towards the current 13p support level, on any more negative RNS's & there are too many 50k sells showing through for my liking.

The truth is that I dont think the MM's really know where this one is heading until more news of any real significance appears.

Don't get me wrong as I feel that this is one for long term recovery therefore long term holders should not be so concerned over recent wild fluctuations in price.

just not sure how honest these boys are, someone implied they had similar history with another bio company. So not to touch, but that might be harsh. dyor, like I did not before diving in this time. Not one for the faint hearted!

Truckertee,

'I got out this AM and into MMG,patent approval in the US.'

I'm been in these since November, the last time a patent RNS came out (for Europe), surged to 60p then fell back over the next few months to 38p, back up again now so that is the trading range imho.

Hi Amarone,

'can anyone shed any light on the signifcance of having an analyst meeting?'

It's normal for a company to have an analyst meeting after results (either FY or half year), also, with all the talk of merger, etc, there will definatly be a lot of people wanting to question the management.

I might go.

GMX on SGX dropped by 13% in comaprison to the free fall on the LSE we saw. The Asian market has a far better handle on this compant as most of the direct cash investment has come out of Malaysia. Bottom line - the MM could want your stock!

good website for the worldwide bio-tech market, no presence from GMX though which suprises me in light of the above. This is like the Expo of the year. If I would have found out in time I may well have took a trip over (under another alias of mine). I think a tree shake early doors to get the people who went out for 18 holes today, (as I was meant to do) and came back to find a sea of red to close down their positions/stop losses and then support will come back and some large 'delayed' buys will start to appear later on in the day. IMHO

AMARONE

ps. as your treading the boards late too you might care to have a glance at the IMG thread. Now that's what I call news! (not a ramp/tip).

Amarone,

You asked the other day about cost of listing on the Nasdaq:

'GeneMedix appoints Bank of New York for Nasdaq listing
19 February 2004

GeneMedix, the UK biopharmaceutical company with operations in Europe and Asia and with joint London and Singapore Stock Exchange listings, took its first steps in its plans to list on Nasdaq with the appointment of the Bank of New York as its depositary bank for a Level One American Depositary Receipt (ADR) program.

The New York based investment bank, Global Markets Capital Group, will manage the listing process. This is a sponsored program which minimises any financial outlay to the company and it will allow US investors to directly purchase the company's shares.
Once the Level One program is declared effective by the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), GeneMedix will prepare a Form 20-F for lodgement with the SEC as part of its next step of achieving the more significant Level Two ADR program. A Level Two ADR program is a US listing (with US GAAP and full SEC compliance). The listing will allow for GeneMedix ADRs to trade on the fully automated, screen based Small Cap Nasdaq market. Paul Edwards, ceo, GeneMedix, stated: 'The program will allow GeneMedix to access the very important US capital markets, where there is tremendous investor interest in the emerging field of biogenerics.''
