19/2/2004 07:27 | Genemedix, the London and Singapore listed biotech, which yesterday announced that it was in talks that could see it taken over by a pharma major enjoyed a delayed reaction with its shares racing ahead by 7.75p to 21.25p. The pull seems to have been from the Singapore listing where at one point shares were trading at 28p. Bear raider Evil Knievil revealed on t1ps.com in his regular EvilCast that he was of the view that the company was worth no more than 5p a share and had thus shorted them at 21p. | pizzaman
19/2/2004 06:38 | ....and from today's Daily Telegraph..... Market report By Yvette Essen 19/02/2004 GeneMedix, the minnow UK biopharmaceutical company which announced on Monday that it is in merger talks, surged 7.75 to 21.25p. The shares have risen from 10p this week. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ | abcd1234
19/2/2004 06:33 | Well captain...how did it do in the end..............and did i read that the uk price was lagging behind the Sing price considerably anyway? So what would the close price in Sing compare to on the ftse price? | abcd1234
19/2/2004 02:28 | Well its currently bobbing about between 0.03 to 0.05 down now- could possibly open up on the FTSE, -1p to 19.50/21p in the morning. Think I better go to bed now as this is doing my head in- the fluctuations in prices in Singapore seem pretty torrid. There appears to be more movements up & down in the share price than actual trades !! Volume still only 1.7m shares traded after 2.5 hours, so not a lot to get too excited about so far & the bulk of those were traded in the first 45 minutes. Hope to wake up to better news from Singapore later. | captainspock
19/2/2004 02:08 | Could be settling down now 0.87/0.875, but still 5.43% down on the day so far. | captainspock
19/2/2004 01:57 | Correction 0.865/0.875 !!!!! | captainspock
19/2/2004 01:56 | Well were not looking too hot in early trading now I'm afraid !! 0.87/0.875 -0.05 (-5.43%) | captainspock
19/2/2004 01:50 | Back to 0.88/0.885 & trading in a very narrow range | captainspock
19/2/2004 01:46 | 31.3m shares traded in Singapore yesterday & 1.5m traded so far today after just over 1.5 hours. | captainspock
19/2/2004 01:39 | Still on the up I see !! 0.885/0.89 | captainspock
19/2/2004 01:36 | Yes just logged in through Yahoo- seems to be picking up again 0.88/0.885 spread at present, but still 4.35% down on profit taking. However was as low as 0.82 mid-price !! | captainspock
19/2/2004 01:14 | CaptainSpock Your right about the rollercoaster ride, was taken a sudden dive but back on track now though. | alex2504
19/2/2004 00:05 | Well anyone able to log onto the Singapore Stockmarket data as it is just about to open !!!!! Eh I guess not, so I suppose it will have to be an early rise tomorrow. I would expect to see GMX open 2-3p higher even without any news, but how it will pan out during the day will very much depend on what is going on in Singapore. With the Dow closing down 42 points tonight, Singapore will most likely also open down, so it could be a bit of a rollercoaster, IMHO !!!!! | captainspock
18/2/2004 22:31 | Hmmmm, not much press/exposure then eh ? ;-)) Andy | andyprice5569
18/2/2004 22:09 | Neutral (Long term) - Feb 18, 2004 Has fallen 82% since the peak on 23 Jan 2001 at 115. Has broken through the ceiling of a falling trend channel. This indicates a slower falling rate initially, or the start of a more horizontal development. The stock has broken up through the resistance at p 18.50. This predicts a further rise. Poor liquidity (traded 95% of the days, mean 9.39 mill per day) weakens the analysis. | optimist23 |
