Sam66 - are you still out there? Are you still invested in NTG after REDD / NTG acquisition?

All IMHO DYORI hold no position in these but am evaluating various companies.Has anybody seen that possible bankruptcy of Hertz over in the United States? Traffic levels are very low according to various sources and so one expects accidents are low?

having held 2.9 percent of helphire some years ago and dealings with northgate who i found hard work in the old days, are things going to change here now,

is it worth a large punt now, I done very well out of helphire a few years back,

Also own a vehicle rental company myself and van dealerships and know the industry well.

what is the correct market cap here now please.

Sphere-that's a little wrong. Shorters have been very active since January, shorting NTG buying REDD and locking in the spread for an almost risk free trade (exc NTG getting bid for). This short will close when they settle the short with the new NTG stock

I think the deal makes both companies less risky overall and looks pretty attractive. I've bought in post-deal

Posted the disappointment on the REDD board when this merger news was announced. REDD standalone had strong recovery prospects. The merger is an absolutely reckless move by REDD directors and major shareholders who approved the deal.

Alot of funds have sniffed the same and shorts are crawling all over this significantly higher risk proposition now. Short position has more than doubled (now 8.4%) only recently! That is a statement itself.

So Redde shareholders got 0.3669 NTG per REDD share. NTG is trading at 265, which is just over 97p per old REDD share. But REDD was trading at 105 on Friday.

NTG shareholders get an interim dividend in January and a final in September. REDD shareholders got dividends in March and September. So this year, original NTG holders will get both dividends, but REDD holders will get only one.

I can't avoid the feeling that the management have no respect at all for shareholders.

It certainly feels like we've been shafted.
Feel like a tool as I wasn't that enamoured with this company when a mate kept banging on about how good it was. I almost flipped a coin to decide whether to invest or not.
Schoolboy error.
My fault entirely of course.
