Nice to see the weekend close above 100p ......at 102.5p

Uptrend channel nicely intact.

Only real potential serious negative would be the Courts supporting the Revenue VAT appeal, which I think we will know about in April.

And there still appears to be nothing built into share price for a possible bid from Guoco.

looks good from a chart viewpoint but it does carry a lot of debt - but i am taking the plunge and buying a few ! ->> this is not Gala Group with some billion + debt though...the recession will keep taking the toil at bingo and Rank will be one of the few companies that will emerge stronger me thinks.

So, the Financial Times thinks that a share price in the region of 100p is currently a Fair Price when is comes to Rank.

Daniel Stewart - is that the name of a cowboy haha :D what can these analysts know? they look only after their own self-interest and have hidden agendas...but Ian Burke...burke is the ultimate insider!!! Bet he wouldn't be adding 60% to his holding (spending over 100k) if he didn't know that the future was bright.

over 10 million traded today mostly off-exchange - yesterday the volume was also a high 19 million - are we in for another RNS?

Financial Times:

Rank's management deserve praise for showing great resilience during troubled times for the bingo and casino sectors, working through the squalls of the past two years. Helped by court victories on VAT reclaims and a government rethink on bingo taxation, the group should soon improve its net debt to ebitda ratio. Analysts remain mixed on the stock, but the shares, trading on a forward p/e ratio of 10.5, appear fairly priced.

Daniel Stewart remained unimpressed, noting the continued weak performance in the Bingo division. It retained its 'sell' stance and 75p price target.

Close of play 98p. A new closing high. Looks like firm support now at 95p.

wow ;) he added 62% to his existing holdings - nice Burke ;) instead of selling I've added quite a bit more - adding to profitable positions isn't that's what they say with a lovely Burke behind us.

Director's share purchase

On 25 February 2010 Ian Burke, an executive director, notified the Company
(under the obligations imposed by paragraph DTR 3.1.2 R of the FSA's Disclosure
& Transparency Rules) that, on 25 February 2010, he purchased 100,000 ordinary
13 8/9p shares in Rank at a price of 101.8p per share, thereby increasing his
notifiable beneficial share interest to 260,553 ordinary shares, representing
0.07% of the total number of shares currently in issue.

the share price will continue to fluctuate for the coming days but its great that the long term trend is up for a change (I'm so tired of battling trends which is always a dangerous game!) - the longer it stays at these levels the better as day traders get flushed out.

now guoco will have to pay more if they want us ;)

You may well be right Guid, but I'm out again for the moment.

Sold total of 50,000 at average of about 101p per share this morning.

Previously bought back in at average of 82p so I'm happy with that.

Will review again at end of day.

more upside from here i say - one can say this is a breakout and reaching new highs - just like profit warnings the share price is likely to continue rising in the coming days as day traders get out of the equation. ->> at last Rank is rewarding us ;)

In southern Cambodia now and back to Thailand tomorrow! Nice to see us back up to 94p since I last checked in without having tested support. Will we be able to set new high next week?
