24/11/2016 18:45 | Thank you sir. | bonio10000
24/11/2016 18:40 | bonio1000 - Subscribe to GATA. It's a massive worldwide movement to expose the manipulation of gold and silver prices by Comex and central bankers. Just Google GATA and the relevant bits will come up. They send you excellent e-mails, sometimes daily, and it's free of charge. | professor pettigrew
24/11/2016 17:05 | bonio10000 - I think that's maybe what quite a few have in mind! Can we at last see in sight, the end of manipulation of the gold price, and the central (w)bankers rigging things to their own end? Another, probably distant, plan is that when the US$ is finally wrecked and worthless then they go back to the gold standard, and every dollar has to be backed by a quantity of gold. It is said that if this were to happen, the gold price would be re-rated to between 5 and 10,000 dollars per oz. Maybe wild assumptions at the moment, but stranger things have happened. The world is awash with paper money, the majority of it completely and utterly worthless. Unless a currency is backed by something intrinsic it tends to destroy itself. And that's exactly what is happening within the world today. | professor pettigrew
24/11/2016 16:01 | And there is another. All filtered - suggest everyone does the same. If scum are ignored they eventually wither away. | professor pettigrew

24/11/2016 13:59 | 'a modest holding' of 800 shares is £45,000. shares worth £77,000 a few months ago. We do have some high rollers here. | careful
24/11/2016 13:51 | Thank you Professor for some first rate research...far better than the flippant type I see most days on ADVFN. | astute person
24/11/2016 11:40 | Thank you professor that's very informed and interesting reading. I appreciate your time you have taken to fed this back. I have only a modest holding here of around 800 shares but I don't plan on selling them for an awful long time so I will sit back and wait for the world to realise it's in a false state of affairs and gold will shine through once more. | markth126
24/11/2016 11:05 | markth126 - one other very important point to note. Although gold is one of the best performers this year, despite the recent blip its still up around 11%, it's nowhere near it's all-time high adjusted for inflation. That was reached in 1980 at $850 per oz. Even when gold pierced $1900 back in 2011 it still wasn't a proper all-time high given the inflation from 1980 to 2011. So, there is massive upside potential just for gold to get to a proper new high, which I calculate to be around $2325 per oz. Anything above that then would indicate gold coming into its own again. So, yes $3,000 could very well be on the cards, especially given the money printing over the past 8 years, and the expansionary plans in the US, and to a limited degree here. Remember, the world is printing the equivalent of around $100m every single day. The US national debt is approaching $20TRN and ours will be £2TRN by 2020. A glittering outlook for gold and gold miners indeed. | professor pettigrew
24/11/2016 10:49 | Hi markth126 - well I have read some analysts are saying $3,000, certainly a lot are saying an all-time high of $2,000, I've read of $5,000 and even $10,000 which is a bit stretched. If you correlate the share price of RRS against the gold price and go back some months, a theoretical gold price of $3,000 would equate to around £250 here. Hopefully I can dream of that tonight! Best of luck. | professor pettigrew
24/11/2016 10:37 | Thanks prof, not massively knowledgeable myself on the gold market but in this as a hedge against my other stocks going down. Also heavily into SOLG which has had a good run of late. Incidentally why price would you see if gold did hit 3000us$ - dare to dream eh? | markth126
24/11/2016 10:06 | careful - it's akin to a Ponzi. It does, I admit, smooth out some fluctuations, but in the real world can anybody honestly say that it's not bent to sell gold contracts short at will and never see the actual product? As soon as more and more people learn and understand what is to come, the rise in the gold price (and by implication RRS) will be so astronomical that the world will scramble for the metal. What price RRS if gold reaches $3,000? | professor pettigrew
24/11/2016 10:03 | And the key to all of it, is that once the Shariah compliant gold trades start, they ALL have to be eventually backed by PHYSCIAL delivery. Try telling The Fed that. They, and other central (w)bankers prefer ridiculous pieces of paper. | professor pettigrew
24/11/2016 09:56 | ETF's distort the market. massive selling of Gold ETF'S recently. Heavy buying of copper ETF's. All by punters who never see or use any of it. It reverses just as quickly. Cant trust etf's. Do they actually buy the metals or is it just a Ponzi type con? | careful
24/11/2016 09:47 | For The Record I've Topped Up ! | chinese investor
24/11/2016 09:46 | Gold now above the line, after the ridiculous fall yesterday (paper based of course). RRS to follow and end blue. It's all so predictable. Everybody should fill their portfolios with gold and RRS. I'm predicting $1500 and £100 here by next summer. | professor pettigrew
24/11/2016 09:35 | Yes I am starting to feel extremely bullish about randgold. I am not invested yet but I am about to BUY BUY BUY | gilesgraves
24/11/2016 08:54 | Professor, I agree with your comments. Accumulating physical really means physical, not a paper token for gold which has been sold 50 times already. It means having your own vault or one where you 100% trust the custodian...or burying it in a forest with a Treasure Island map! The next best thing is a solid producing miner. Hence why I'm here | richie32
24/11/2016 08:52 | Thanks for the warning Prof. You should create your own moderated thread and then you will be able to BAN & BIN the scum. | poseidon adventure |
