17/12/2015 15:43 | Sure, and I couldn't bring myself to back TRAKman's haircut. However, I suspect that Q has been pushing for market share over profitability with their free 'till Xmas offer. apad | apad
17/12/2015 15:30 | ..the best dog in this fight so far.... Yes, APAD but how long before QTX plays catchee-upee? No reason why QTX couldn't also win similar type contracts as TRAK imo. I note the large trades today so perhaps the low might be in for now and on that basis i have been adding to my holdings today. Trading update due mid Jan. | cfro
17/12/2015 14:32 | Been overshadowed a bit by TRAK's contract with AA, perhaps? Can't say that I'm overly impressed by that, but TRAK has been the best dog in this fight so far. apad | apad
17/12/2015 13:59 | Some very large trades today. | saucepan
08/12/2015 14:36 | These three videos well worth watching for anyone interested in investing. Points of note: business very cash generative Pays out 50% of free cashflow in divis but still leaves plenty of cash for R&D. Expanding into France and the US. Andy says fully intends to meet full-market expectations in profit forecasts and says this with a very straight face imvho! | cfro
07/12/2015 22:30 | Thanks again APAD. Pleased you are here with your analytical brain to run the rule over this. Re the PEG of 1.3. As far as i can see the broker's are forecasting growth in eps of 'only' 10% this year and 19% for 2016/17. With the forward pe of above 20 then, obviously, the PEG comes in above 1. If as i suspect, and only time will tell on this front, these forecasts will be smashed. If so then for obvious reasons the growth rate increases, the forward pe comes down and the PEG would fall below 1. | cfro
07/12/2015 19:27 | Thanks, APAD; and good to see you here, too, cfro. I must admit I am surprised that until today's posts there has been no other activity on this board since October. QXT: an exciting company "still off the radar"? It should get itself a tracker :-) | saucepan
07/12/2015 18:58 | Thanks cfro. In some ways the (relative ) lack of attention the management pays to investors is comforting. Paul Scott criticises BRY and the management is all over him! Usually I don't mind a high PE if the company has a decent barrier to entry. There is an argument that their software investment is a barrier to entry, but I am not convinced. Having said that the competition from the likes of RAC is laughable. apad ps The haircut on the chap from TRAKM8 was hilarious. Worth watching the video just for the spectacle. pps I bought an initial holding in PHD at the same time (70% up)! Not sure I fully understand either company. | apad
07/12/2015 18:19 | I also took a small stake today. (can buy at 255p which indicates a seller). APAD, re high pe. Yes it is high but imo it is justified given the enormous growth in the business and, arguably more important, its sector. The Telematics sector is currently growing at a cagr of 22%! What really interested me in particular is their US side of the business which is growing fast from a low base. Increased sales here could really add value. A trading statement was released 19th Jan this year so i would expect one around this date in 2016. | cfro
07/12/2015 10:04 | Only caveat to that, S, is that the shares are highly priced, PER about 26 forwards and backwards, so I reckon news is needed and their offer of 'free 'till 2016' will dent profitability in favour of increased market. Anybody know when the next news is due - I can't find a date. I have a small initial holding, and like you I was impressed with the management. apad | apad
07/12/2015 08:46 | Hi folks, just to say I have opened a position in Quartix, (QTX) researched over the weekend. Interest was prompted by an excellent Shares Mag feature on the telematics sector (also covered TRAK). In case followers, or others looking in, are unaware: there are two video presentations and one interview accessible on the QTX website. I found them compelling. They can be accessed here: Then use the drop-down menu "Results Presentations and Videos" The growth and plans in France and USA I thought were particularly exciting. Hopefully, one to tuck away for the long term. The Slater PEG is 1.3, so the price might be up with events, unless forecasts are behind the curve. However, I liked the story too much to ignore. Managing director, Andy Walters, comes across well. | saucepan
06/10/2015 09:43 | None of the videos seem to talk about the way that the data generated feeds into the accounting department. It seems to me that developing software that automates accounts is the key difference between QTX and any old spy-in-the-cab company. Or have I got this wrong? Back to highly-priced so no opportunity for me to increase :-( apad | apad

15/8/2015 10:57 | Following my initial holding I have been through the presentations, videos, case-studies, etc. and am impressed. However, I still have concerns about competition and barriers to entry. Had a look at Trakm8 after H's comment (above) and was unimpressed with their website. I know RAC have a product that is not at all impressive. Keeping adding financial functionality to the software is e they can keep a lead impressive and I guess that iff they can keep an edge Anybody else looked more deeply at the competition? apad ps If you are investorschampion, please don't bother to reply. | apad
29/7/2015 12:32 | The rating is high. Interestingly Trakm8 it's smaller competitor is faster growing and yet on a lower rating. | hydrus
29/7/2015 11:29 | Seems to have got ahead of itself, earnings need to play catch-up with the mkt cap or the mkt cap needs to come down to a better earnings multiple. | celeritas
29/7/2015 06:09 | Interim Results out today - and they look very good so yesterdays hike must have been in anticipation of the good results | johnthespacer |
