Getting money out of Nigeria has been an ongoing problem. Emirates suspended operations there as they couldn’t get funds out of the country.

GBP Naira now below 900.
This should be a positive for PZ.

The Naira has strengthened vs GBP quite considerably in the past few days. This has been missed.

Not a single BOD buy post results, even at current share price levels, eh.

PZ is a great business with a bright future I'm a really big fan. If you look beyond the short term Nigerian challenge there is a strong business. Nice to see them entering so many new markets original source in Spain, and Child's farm in Austria, Germany and Switzerland. I'm more concerned a great business in my long term portfolio maybe a takeover target. I would prefer to hold PZ for decades so keeping my fingers crossed it's not snapped up on the cheap.

justice, until there is further clarification on those Nigerian funds,
It's very difficult to make a buy case here - however it may well be worth watching
for developments.

That is not true. Naira value dropped ~70% in mid June, when AAF share price was 133.7 and fall to around £1 in next couple days. Naira is more less the same value after that, and Airtel bounced backed last month to it's normal price level.

Tipped by Midas.
Strange that Airtel Africa which also has a large Nigerian presence has barely moved since the devaluation of the Naira.

steady profit performance in the circumstances as i expected, but what's going on with that pile of cash stuck in Nigeria?

looks like they bought out the PZC nigeria minority stake as a way to put that trapped cash to some use.

nigeria is obviously a big problem at the moment, but they have a strong market position there, and it's forecast to be have a greater population than the entire EU by 2050. so lots of people to sell soap and shampoo to.

The market may be attempting to factor in whether that money (a huge amount for a business of this size) is coming back from Nigeria?.

Over £50 million knocked off the market cap since results.

PZ Cussons at the mercy of the Nigerian economy

Macroeconomic developments in Nigeria will have a marked impact on FY2024 financial performance

At 16 times consensus earnings, the share price affords a more viable entry point than the bulk of its industry peers. However, the housekeeping challenges posed by the Nigerian transformation keep us on the sidelines.

Hold.

I listened to the Q&A on the call - one analyst only asked questions.

A tad embarrassing.

Why did the company say they 'welcomed' the Naira depreciation? Never made sense to me. Trading at 20 year lows now. Defensive stock my ass.

PZ Cussons experienced a drop of 4.38%, as challenges such as rising cost inflation and operational issues in Nigeria continued to bear down on the Imperial Leather manufacturer, even though it maintained its annual guidance despite a decline in full-year profits

If the staff did get out of their bedrooms they would find that Imperial Leather Soap is often not on the supermarket/chemists shelves......

I would feel better if they would get their staff out of the their bedrooms and back to work. This company has been running itself since the beginning of Covid.
