What they should have done was confirm an exact net debt figure as of 26 June
given the FX situation.

They mention an aim of tripling revenue at Child Farm over the next 5 years
but what about profitability.

That might leave net debt somewhere near 85 GBP million.

If I've read the statement correctly, approx 60 GBP million cash is 'gone'
FX movements as things stand.

FWIW, swing traders will be looking at that RSI 14 chart and salivating.
Huge headroom if PZC does the biz. Gap up at 170p. I'm in.

Great brands but company going sideways many years. Breakup seems best option. Nigeria may help suspect in past could not get funds out of country due to FX controls? Now hopefully can move funds at a realistic rate. Nigeria huge market, great for P&G or ULVR.

The Naira has actually strengthened some 15% off its lows.
This is yet another UK share that is trading around the 2008 credit crunch lows. Justified? I strongly suspect not.

I’d imagine they have had issues getting cash out and this will help them. Lots of airlines have had issues.

£196 million cash at the last results so a healthy amount.

Now again why did he 'welcome' the devaluation?

justiceforthemany

justice, have you read the net cash impact of the devaluation - they state
a 20 million reduction in cash per 10% valuation of the Nigerian currency.

Why did the CEO say he welcomed the devaluation in the Naira? Anyone?

PS. A couple of pennies shaved off the EPS with this currency devaluation. This drop is unwarranted.

The latest issues in Nigeria detract from what is an 'otherwise a solid update' from PZ Cussons, according to Russ Mould, investment director at AJ Bell.

'Volatility in the currency and sometimes the country itself often seem to be a problem and may prompt questions about whether a sale of this part of the business could aid the long-term stability of the group,' he added.

Analysts at Shore Capital described the naira devaluation as "a sting in the tail," adding that they would place their financial 2024 forecasts "under review for a downward revision to reflect the devaluation and management guidance."

The broker also placed its 'hold' rating for PZ Cussons stock under review.

Not obvious why it would perform better as part of a larger group;I am doubtful if family interests would sell out in any case.
