I think the best thing to do with Lydnem/ElCapital is to ignore him. I think I was being generous when I said he had a mental age of seven.

I can't help thinking that this is about peaked out chart-wise

A second shoulder formation in the 300p area might be next

Andy knows I quite often call these moves correctly

I think this is now in bubble territory like the housing market and peoples personal debts

EBITDA margin is usually higher than profit margin, and companies with low profitability will rely on EBITDA margin as a measurement for success. EBITDA as a accounting number isn't regulated by GAAP, and companies can potentially skew EBITDA numbers.

I've been watching the OTC spread for quite a while now and there is little premium on sells now and it appears buying is at below mid.

melody,

Well the market cap is now £1.12 Billion this morning!

I suspect potential shorters are just keeping their powder dry for signs of buyer exhaustion. Bloomberg terminals are useful for spotting that, and people with far deeper pockets than you and I will be watching closely IMO.

Buywell - don't recognise those numbers. At the last interims in Dec 16, adjusted EBITDA was improved to (£2.2M) from (£6.0M) a year earlier. As the business continues to scale, will soon be EBITDA positive.

PURP is a disruptive play and I find it difficult to see why they will not continue to grow. But there may be bumps on the road which means you might make some money short if you get the timing just right.

''Year on year Purplebricks Group PLC had net income fall 118.95% from a loss of 5.44m to a larger loss of 11.90m despite a 448.06% increase in revenues from 3.39m to 18.60m. An increase in the cost of goods sold as a percentage of sales from 40.75% to 43.07% was a component in the falling net income despite rising revenues.''

Volume of housing sales is relatively low atm, in spite of buoyant prices. (In many areas)
It is volume which will drive PURP revenue and profits of course.

Yes Andy, remember that prices can fall as well as rise.
There is no avoiding boom and bust, within the capitalist system. Better than the alternative though!

'rog',

Yes to a lesser extent, but my bad experience was in the early 90's, but I held on at the time, rather than sell at a low price to someone who would benefit from my loss over time.

I remember contacting estate agents and their first question was " how much do you owe on your mortgage?"!

If you didn't have a confirmed sale on your property they wouldn't even show you around another one as there was no point, the market was moribund.

'rog',

Best comments I have ever read from you, and I totally agree with them.

If the market suffers serious falls, and selling becomes as difficult as it did in the late 80's early 90's, there may be some bargains to be had, and I'm thinking south coast, definitely not London.

The government's tinkering may prove to be the catalyst in reversing the market, but as long as people have decent deposits and buy in good areas, I still think BTL is viable for the individual.

I won't be jumping in, patience will be key IMO.

'Andy' have a long hard think about the BTL market. The government has tried to kill it. HM government wants the rental supply controlled by plc's, so that the plc's can be controlled and taxed efficiently.

Good luck, if you do jump in. But research it properly, and maybe look up north.
It is unlikely to be feasible down south.

Rog,

BTL and a cooling market will effect everyone.

I can see reasons for why people might sell through Purple, I.E. low costs, but can also see reasons why they may not, I.E. fee has to be paid upfront, rather than from sale proceeds.

When money is tight and property sticky, I could see people choosing the "pay when it's sold" option over the advance fee.

I may get interesting, I'm keeping my powder dry for a couple of BTL's if the market heads south.

yes, show us the courage of your conviction Lydnem.

P.S. BTL and and a cooling market might not affect PURP. Might even help it, as the service is cheap. There's lots of wooly thinking going on in this thread.

The threat to the housing market is rising interest rates, and people losing their jobs post Brexit. There is a massive shortage of rental properties, which should support rent levels.

numb nuts. FFS you are stupid.

Rightmove and Zoopla are property portals that estate agents upload their properties too. A site is short for website you moron! Zoopla also owns Prime Location and hundreds of sites (other property portal sites!!) that automatically get updated when the upload to Zoopla. Rightmove have hundreds of (web) sites ie portals that does the same
You are so thick, you must need help to tie your own shoelaces.!

EDIT
I just saw the rightmove advert, they do a school checker now, perhaps you should consider moving house!
