Its not that I am expecting negative news
I am expecting that it will get hammered no mater what the news....as is now the norm !
I just hope that it isn't more than 10%, which I can survive...maybe 15%
20%...30% and I will be screwed....again
It was shorted to death today, only a few closed out in to the close
I want to be wrong

Aviva : "Operating profit was up 10% at GBP3.36 billion on an MCEV basis and up 4% at GBP2.3 billion on an IFRS basis. Both were higher than average forecasts.

"Solid, largely inline and no nasty surprises makes these a solid set of figures, but the shares are likely to continue to be driven by market uncertainty in the short term," said Panmure Gordon analyst Barrie Cornes, who kept his hold rating and target price of 330 pence on the stock. "

I think every one expects a negative news from PRU. I hope it is going to come up with a surprising news tomorrow morning.

Ah, indeed it's not - "Prudential plc is not affiliated in any manner with Prudential Financial, Inc, a company whose principal place of business is in the United States of America."

A pity, as a 20% rise would have been nice this side of the pond too.

Does LSE:PRU have any relation to NYSE:PRU ? Because as far as I could tell, up until a day or 2 back the share graphs were very similar... And at the moment, NYSE:PRU has rocketed +17% today (especially in the last 10 mins).

STD life had a rise on the announcement of a loss!
It all depends how they present the exceptional IMO.
I think some of the fall is due to the heavy regulation being introduced to the insurance and banking industry.

I can not remember the last company that reported a good set of results and had a price rise on the day, never mind a not so good report ?
How much did Aviva fall....???...was it 33% ?
Have Friends Prov gone up or DOWN ?
So what is 252p less 33% ?.....Wipe out for me !

See what you mean - very similar chart. So these are the estimates/guesses for tomorrow ? EEV profit but net loss. Last time I saw analyst estimates (think it was OML) they were way off - they were too high ! Having said that, the OML price has recovered a bit since then. Wonder if the PRU estimates are also way too high, i.e. maybe EEV loss as well as net loss ? £478M loss for 1st half.
