Both Sunak and Truss confirm that they will support fracking, providing local communities support the activity, which perhaps creates a future problem for Ireland, as I am sure this will be accelerated in the UK and the British grid will be populated with significant amounts of fracked gas, perhaps Barryroe will start to look an even more attractive proposition for Minister Ryan,..GL S

I assume we can all guess what should be in the CEPA report. Ireland has had a national gas emergency plan for years -- you can Google it. It tells us: "Given Ireland’s geographical location, on the periphery of Europe, measures such as reverse flows and coordinated dispatching are not feasible supply side market-based measures. Furthermore, the use of long term and short-term contracts do not protect Ireland against low supply in the UK, or major infrastructure risks". Step 1 in the case of a supply disruption is to maximise indigenous production, storage and LNG facilities. Oh yeah, and the plan nominates a crisis manager, to be the minister for for DCCAE. So basically we're depending no Eamon Ryan to implement all the things he's ideologically opposed to. That should work out well :/

I would very much doubt that, it will be classified as a government restricted document at this stage,..GL S

WPC9, I would suggest it has been sat on Ryan's desk for months and I would also suggest it hasn't been released because it spells out that Ireland must focus on their immediate and medium term energy security requirements, which is indigenous Oil and Gas, regardless of the fantasy renewable and hydrogen world that Ryan lives in, if it was remotely anti indigenous O&G, it would have been released with a fanfare and Ryan would be dancing barefoot down a Dublin High St, it is politically embarrassing and hence the delay, if you look at anything CEPA are involved in, delayed reports are not what they subscribe to,..GL S

is there a definitive date for the CEPA REPORT. From what i can see on internet this is long overdue even taking into account UKRAINE. This will be a defining moment for Barryroe and shareholders. A poor report here and we are truly bunched , so if anyone knows the date could they please let me know. thanks in advance.

Another wake up call for Ireland, does Ryan and the Irish government actually believe that they will take preference over UK industry and consumers?, the word deluded springs to mind,..GL S

As London only avoided a blackout last week by paying a record high £9,724.54 per MWh (more than 5,000% higher than the typical price) to briefly import electricity from Belgium due to traffic jams on the power grid.

abu - if you're using the advfn app, (as opposed to full web view), go to his latest post, tap the down arrow top right of his post and select "ignore". Otherwise, as

Idiot ryan has been exposed as a virtue signalling hypocrite for his use of business class flights, he put up a spirited defense though with this statement.😵‍💫

“If I can make a point on the wider sense of how we meet this climate challenge: If we're to go about it as a ‘What are you doing?’ through blaming and shaming people, and putting a real guilt trip on people, I don't think we can carry the Irish people with us."
Now i've read this a few times and if any one out there can make sense of it could you please translate it and post it here please.

Good to see CRU speaking up and some significant points of reference that will certainly make major industries sit up and take notice and more pressure will be sure to follow for Ryan and the government,..GL SThe raw risk from inadequate resources was scored at 25 out of 25, according to the register that was released under FOI.Concerns were also raised about the system for ensuring that demand for electricity was always met over the next three years. The commission for regulating electricity warned the risk to security of supply of power in Ireland was "acute" amid fears of significant outages and collateral damage to Government policy on climate change. The latest risk register for the Commission for Regulation of Utilities (CRU) scored challenges to supply at five out of five for impact, and four out of five for the likelihood of them happening. This created a risk calculated at 20 out of 25 that electricity supply needs would not be met between now and 2025.It warned of the potential for "loss of load expectation, expectation higher than target and/or significant events occurring during the period such as significant outages".hTTps://www.rte.ie/news/business/2022/0724/1311943-electricity-power-supply/
