pap: "the future of internal combustion/diesel engine in cars is bleak.

Maybe so for domestic cars given the political decisions of late. But, one thing that the pollies don't seem to have grasped is the need for military vehicles. You can't fend off aggression ( or for that matter instigate it) with a "Can you wait please while we charge up the batteries of our tanks?"

The military might of China, Russia and the USA, along with all the despotic states that appear from time to time will need diesel and petrol to fuel their jackboot aggression and/or defensive resistance policies on the ground for a long time to come. IMO.Cheers.

Is this vote in the dail likely to be the cause of the drop in share price ? I reckon we're about 2/5th way through the 3 months of exclusivity, so possibly a little way to go yet.

From LOGP on 09/1/201816:15 itsriskythat: In the 8 days trading now since the RNS, the PVR market cap has increased by £29m, and the LOGP market cap by only £2.9m. PVR increase is 10 times the increase of LOGP. The Barryroe interest split is 80% to 20% so would have expected nearer to 4 times the increase not 10 times. The total shares traded in PVR are 8% of shares in issue, and in LOGP are 35% of shares in issue. PVR shares are tightly held, but LOGP shares are in loose hands, so the bigger increase.

Also just as amazing and at the Market Caps in PVR and LOGP and the supposed upside value in Barryroe is that NO ONE has ever even tried to buy Landsdowne Oil & gas or their interest in Barryroe

Hello Papillon. Not a question of people having to agree and understand that not everbody a holder of Providence shares. But cars will not be run on batteries in their entirety for many years. Hybrid cars maybe. The matter is simple it makes for great marketing but is actually not possible at present. 1: infrastructure not available. Batteries material not available to supply market. 3: Batteries require energy to function i.e what source of energy will power these billions of batteries. 4: batteries contaminate more than oil and gas. The reality is that a completely different power source will be required and not a superficial oil/battery shift. However these People are free to believe what they like and it is my opinion that they are ill informed. Cher should spend her time dealing with the fracking industry or perhaps worry about the fish in the gulf of mexico. And maybe travel less in her car and not fly. It absolutely silly the response in the Dail.

I imagine that the Dail members supporting this motion are not PVR shareholders like you are, spuddymadrid! Whilst you are probably correct in that the motion wont apply to Barryroe I could understand it postponing any farm out since potential farminee's might want to delay whilst this uncertainty exists.

PS. I don't think the supporters of this bill are idiots. Unfortunately it's common practice these days to accuse anyone who doesn't agree with you of being an idiot.
I imagine that the future of the internal combustion/diesel engine in cars is bleak. Car manufacturers are already announcing they will stop making such cars in the short to medium term. Planes are of course a different matter and are bad polluters of the atmosphere.

I imagine these idiots drive cars and fly in planes. What a bunch of morons. 200bn in national debt. Global warming has not been proven to be man made. In fact since 2014 average global temperature has dropped. In any case this makes for negstive reading. However the reality is that Fianna Fail supported the bill but will want it ammended and thus it will be watered down. It only applies to new exploration licences and is subject to the needs at any particular time. This will not impact Barryroe. This bill will be ammended and wont be applied for many years. In Spain where I live a similar thing happened with Solar power. The Government changed the rules and were later sued by companies effected. Went to World trade court and now the Government are liable for billions. So no rolling back on licences already issued. Wont happen. Future exploration licences may or may not be impacted. Providence have plenty on their plate with what they have

I imagine it will be harder for PVR to achieve a farm out of Barryroe whilst this uncertainty now exists, hermana.

The MM's are probably dropping the PVR share price on apparently low volume, Stockriser, because they suspect (or know) that if they kept the share price at yesterdays cloing price that would attract a lot of sellers. The MM's invariably drop the share price if they think they will have to buy a lot of shares they don't particularly want.

I presume they have kept the LOGP share price at yesterdays closing price because there hasn't been any selling pressure at that price. Don't forget that LOGP has a very small free float so there can't be many shareholders anyway.

PS. investors love conspiracy theories when it comes to the MM's, but I suspect in the case of PVR there is a rational explanation for their actions

NJ, Only the stinking Dail could be debating the future of Exploration. They prefer to take brownbags from builders, drug deliverers and hoteliers and ignore the dawn of an Energy Industry.

Re Dail vote on exploration, would not a successful well, in the years before the use of fossil fuels comes to an end, simply replace existing imports? Does anyone know if the Barryroe and other key licences are enough to allow progress through to production?

It's quite amazing that LOGP have hardly been scathed, yet the MM's continually mark down PVR on so little volume - I wonder why?

You really do have to hand it TOR junior. He has special unique talent!A gift that is almost unheard of in CEO land. More often usually found down in the local on high stool.
