GD,Picked up as many as me grumpy broker would give me credit for(he restricted me to 200K as I have been more than a wee bit tardy settling with him in past!). Off to sunnier climes next Tuesday and better times with luck....

Stock,Me broker thinks it will too! Lovely lad never stingy with the credit either. Doesnt complain excessively when I am sometimes(nearly always) a wee bit late in payment though he cant refraining from mentioning it when we are in company.....

Oil Futures Rise Further on North Sea Pipeline Closure

--Prices for Brent crude, the global benchmark, hit fresh 2 1/2-year highs in Asian trading Tuesday building on the start-of-week jumped caused by news that a major pipeline in Europe is being shut for weeks after a crack was found.

--January light, sweet crude on the New York Mercantile Exchange was recently up 0.4% at $58.24 a barrel in the Globex trading session. February Brent rose 0.7% to $65.17.

--Ineos Ltd. said Monday the Forties pipeline system would be closed for a "matter of weeks" after a hairline fracture discovered last week grew. ANZ said the market reaction shows as the global production-cap deal continues, any supply issue will quickly be reflected in higher prices.

A bit off topic but there is a correlation which may be of academic interest.

Woke up this morning to a very pleasant announcement from one of my little Aussie bleeders, Melbana Energy (MAY).

None other than TOTAL (along with Origin Energy)have taken an option to farm into its 100% WA488-P prospect in the Bonaparte Gulf. They will pay for a 3D over the prospect in exchange for the grant of option, then if both or either exercise they will cover all of MAY's costs for the first well.The ownership will then be 80% to the farminee and 20% for MAY. Have to say, last year I thought MAY was edging towards oblivion but you never know in this sector. PVR is a classic example of that.

I recall someone posting on this thread about TOTAL being on an aggressive exploration drive. Seems they were not wrong.Cheers!
