Peaff, I managed to haggle the tomato down to 60p. I have managed to make it last for 2 meals so far, by cutting 3 very thin slices per meal. It is drying out a bit now but should be OK for lunch.

Ceph

I had to laugh at this

The same shopkeeper said that the UK would not have the problem we have now had we simply cut benefits (housing etc) because that is the single reason so many foreigners come from the world over.

The next best reason is to buy a shop and charge 75p for a tomato and £2 a lettuce. I hope you didn't pay it.

I hope you are wrong bud. I've got a lot of wonga invested here and I hope to Jaysus that some decent conclusion will be arrived at after all these years. Anyway... I'm off to watch a bit of rugby in a bit, so closing down for now. Lets see what the next couple of weeks brings. I kind of take some consolation from the fact that Steve Lampe has resulutely backed the company (Lansdowne) for several years now, and hopefully he has been well advised and is not a sucker. Time will tell, and I have a feeling that it will be sooner rather than later in view of the deadlines surrounding the licence expiry and so on.

Yes , news is held back so he can finish his half-term holiday . The point is there is no deal.

If we strike oil at Druid we will probably still be waiting after 4 years for a farm-out . If they can't get an industry partner for a significant oil discovery at Barryroe what hope do they have ? Keep the gravy train rolling on for the Suntanned Wonder . That's what the game is here . Shareholders have just been shafted.

Herm - "Needs a success from somewhere to prove they know what they are doing"

PP has only been a part of the 'they' equation for a few months, but he has previously proven that he knows what he is doing. Come on PAT, give TOR a kick ;-)

The difference is Druid is 10x bigger than Barryroe :)

"Let's face it, not deal on Barryroe and we are scuppered even with a discovery at Druid - where we would have to rely on the fickle farm out market to progress things further."

TV,

I got an email from Steel yesterday telling me the VA was the Victoria & Albert Museum. I should have twigged it but did not!

Regards Haight Ashbury, Far too young to venture to the USA then.

I worked with an American guy years ago who was involved at some point with The Merry Pranksters. He told me many stories. Now not sure if he was having me on though!

I attended many festivals in the late 60's and early 70's. I went to The Saw the Rolling Stones at the free Hyde Park gig on 5 July 1969, I also went to see Jimi Hendrix at the 1970 Festival on Isle of White Festival. I managed to get tickets to see The Grateful Dead for their concert in May 1972 at the Lyceum London. Actually managed to smuggle in a small tape recorder. Taped the whole gig but my ex wife got the house and a few other things including said tape when we separated in 1976 and finally divorced in 1978. She sold the house 2 years after we separated, I was still paying the mortgage and I got my half off the money from the sale

Some great memories of those times and I saw so many great bands. I obviously have moved on and have changed a lot of things for the better in my life.

No worries on my health issues. My GP is great and I have to date been very well looked after by our NHS.

Thanks for your good wishes.

Enjoy your weekend, I will be watching all the 6 Nations games with a few cans of larger for sure.

Take care,
GD

"nothing has worked" - have to take the deroute in the oil into account when judging - think providence now has a very interesting portfolio. Must also be a takeover target

SR,Market is out of love with this share as nothing has worked out for over 5 years. Needs a success from somewhere to prove they know what they are doing. Barryroe farmout a must in next month to give impetus for next crucial drill/drills in June.

Herm,

Yes they were a hoot. I do remember I lost the bet on The Gunners being well beating by Barcs. In those days I had no idea how good Barca were, it was an education that cost me, but it was well worth it for a super dinner. Glad I only had to pay for the dinner and not the drinks!. Remember at the dinner Tinjam tried to order 10 year old Bushmills and got so peeved when the waitress told him they did not stock the very famous Irish Whiskey. He had to settle for Glenfiddich single malt whiskey, can not remember how old it was. Me I would have gone for Jamerson Irish whiskey. Far better IMO. Not talking about PVR today. 6 Nations RU games are my priority today and tomorrow. Wish I was in Dublin down at my cousins pub.

This I had no idea of,

Hi, we are talking very high impact on the share price if we hit oil. According to Davy research the share price should be 61,6 with only 20% of the licence - so 246p with the current 80% equity. And Davy only estimate 15% recovery oil - providence/schlumberger estimate 35% - this would mean a value of 574p compared to the current 17p!!! And that's without Drombeg.
So the coming drill could have multibagger effect. And even though it should be a duster the other assets are valued more than the current share price - so this share should be worth a punt out of a risk/reward view.

1cagney sorry I have no idea whether the Icemax could start sooner, these contracts always seem to be shrouded in mystery. PVR said "June" I think. Marinetraffic shows the rig as sitting in Gran Canaria, we should be able to see it leave and it will take quite a time to get up to the Porcupine. The sister rig Drillmax was at Grand Canaria for a long time before going off to Senegal, they don't seem to mind sitting there for ages. You would think that having gone to all the effort of going to the Porcupine they could fit in another drill for PVR or someone else, but time is getting a bit short now to sort that out!

GD –the Revolution exhibition at the Victoria & Albert Museum ends on the 26 Feb.

One display mentioned the GD family home Ashbury (Haight). We visited that a couple of years ago. The area is a shadow of what it must have been like back in the day.

The nearest I got to that world in ’67 was camping outside Newquay … not quite as cool, but plenty of flower power.

Hope things improve on the health front.
Good luck
