Paul Scott is covering PVG later apparently. Will be interesting to see if he digs any deeper than last time:

Not enough clarity for me on what needs to be done.
What is wrong, why wasn't it working, are all states different.
Exactly what are the differences, what is the alternative approach.

During this period of increased activity the Company has identified a number of differences between the UK and US markets necessitating a different approach to certain elements of the provision of preventative healthcare plans in the US

I am now an ex-holder as of this morning as already posted because it seems too much of an act of faith to rely on the estimate of six months and then all will be rosy. I think they are simply giving themselves breathing room. The US is a collection of states with their own individual laws so perhaps they are discovering the need to approach each state with different business models? This would complicate things. They seem to have gone "all in" with the USA and then discovered a hitch worthy of an RNS. Like a poker player betting big with ace high flush in diamonds before realising that one of the cards is a heart.I hope it works out well but I have to be out until there is clarity on what the issues are and how they affect the business results.

I suspect that's right home brew - probably more risk now with the company as it's not been plain sailing but the scale of the opportunity is still there. They wouldn't be investing otherwise plus the sales record from US clinics has been excellent in a range of cases.

Hopefully just a bump in the road. They've identified a problem relatively early and are making moves to fix it.
Good news that they've sold the buying group and I like the mention of 'critical mass' in six months

Lomax - I'm similarly interested in HSKA which is also highly rated. Not mentioned by Smith I don't think but same sector. Been watching it climb for months doh

Disappointed with their lack of research/reading of the US market. I have reduced my holding somewhat, albeit at a small loss.

Hydrus - thanks for pointing out the Fundsmith youtube link, will need to assess whether Idexx is worth an investment on a PE of 58 (!)

Rapid slow down in qtr on qtr numbers, reduced by more than half.
Maybe its seasonal with tighter purses in the first qtr.

I agree with Hydrus, what are the differences with the UK model vs US.
The rns today should have pointed them out and exactly whats being done.

In cash terms they got less than £5m for the buying group rather than the headline £6m+.What is more concerning is not only the opaque nature of the US "difficulties" and the lack of detail there but also the insipid growth rate in the UK for the last quarter. Is that a blip or a trend?History shows many UK companies foundering on US rocks. Let's hope this is not another one. Many long termers have done well out of this share but I was late to the party so I have had to flush this particular "woofer" down the toilet sadly. It is way too illiquid for the kind of holding I would want to hold so I have let this one go.As stated above, the insti's that bought from the directors in good faith must feel they have been sold a pup.

Not great news at all - I think the RNS should have been clearer on what the differences are between the two markets. Still they got £6m for the buying group which is good and they are clearly still going for it in US. A delay is never going to be taken well by the market.

Obviously very poor news on the delay and not very professional...will have to stick this one in the back of a drawer a while. I'd imagine the institutions are seething as well.

Oh dear, selling the family silver to go heavily into the US market without understanding the market.

Interesting comments from DT

Probably makes sense for them to update when they release the half year results which could be in the next month or so.

I had expected guidance on US plan numbers before now, perhaps early May once they have April plan numbers in?

Took the mutt to my local Medivet in London today .Huge bill poster behind reception extolling virtues of the plans together with the savings. The vet also said most customers are moving to the plan and they think its the way forward.Million dollar question is how quickly are the US pet owners going to take up the plan.My guess is pretty fast. Its a win win with no downside I can see.

I'm here from akt days initially tried to sell cos I was so disappointed with way akt seems to have all its money disappear. Couldn't sell at price I wanted, so held . Then started listening to pet lover and doing some research. Doubled my holding on back of new chairman. Very good bulletin board here, then the placing put a floor under the price in my mind. The company has not issued many updates if any since the directors sales but sure those institutions had better insight than we currently have regarding sales in states so eagerly waiting lastest sales figures update. If they are as I expect we could be looking at £3 plus soon after and £4 end of year. Obviously my own opinion.

Sadly, I never heard of this stock till it reached 225 on the initial spike but have been buying ever since.
I didn't mind the dip from 270 to current levels as it was nice to see institutions happy to cough up at 225.

£38 million market cap seems very cheap to me with the huge US opportunity so I will keep buying.
