25/6/2003 17:50 | Garth - can't beleive you never bought the stock. You were the one that first put it on my radar years ago - or it seems like that now. Been out of DYS for a long time - may have a look again after the resutls. As for PRV I sold out a few days ago to bank my very nice profit . Just felt unless there was a big deal that its moved a long way. Will try to get back in - results solid but no deals .Will I get em at the 160 I sold em at ?? Maybe ,maybe not but I;m not chasing them | ![]() felix99

22/1/2003 10:37 | I know the company is in a stage of flux, with the majority of it's profits being assigned to R&D. I am also aware that the R&D is showing signs of paying for its self within The next couple of years. I was not aware that some members of the group are struggling quite as Much as they are, and that they are in affect pulling the final results down. I do own shares in this stock, and am making a large loss though I am not Willing to sell as I’m confident that they will break even, hopefully sooner rather than later. | dolphinspirit
22/1/2003 09:13 | I'm not really sure which way you think PRV are heading Dolphin. I'm not a holder, but the results to me looked really solid. Dividend held - always a reflection of the directors real views (and holding the divi in this environment is good). R&d increased - another statement of confidence. Cash holdings don't look too hot, and that stops me buying at the moment. Income from Fuel cell plates doubled (from not very much to not very much), but this is the figure to watch. As more prototype Fuel cells are made, I'd expect this doubling of sales to continue, eventually in 3 or 4 years to become the dominatnt aspect. Of course, when mass commercial production starts, sales will continue to double on an annual basis. This is really a 'pension' company. In 5 years time, this will be a large, established big player in a big market. I'm watching and waiting. Excellent LTBH, but not for me just yet. I'll be in either when markets improve, or when they get a cash injection somehow. | shy tott

30/12/2002 18:01 | With all the energy problems in the world and oil price rising, fuel cell technology is one too look out for in the future. Porvair is new to this, at approx.£48m capitalisation, this company would be loose change for some of the larger players in the fuel-cell market - one wonders how long Porvair's independence will last ??? If anyone is interested in fuel-cell technology, check out Ballard Power Systems (on Nasdaq)......some of their blurb as follows: "Ballard Power Systems is recognized as the world leader in developing, manufacturing and marketing zero-emission proton exchange membrane fuel cells. Ballard is commercializing fuel cell engines for transportation applications and fuel cell systems for portable and stationary products. Ballard is also commercializing electric drives for fuel cell and other electric vehicles, power conversion products, natural gas and hydrogen generator sets and is a Tier 1 automotive supplier of friction materials for power train components. Ballard's proprietary technology is enabling automobile, bus, electrical equipment, portable power and stationary product manufacturers to develop environmentally clean products for sale. Ballard is partnering with strong, world-leading companies, including DaimlerChrysler, Ford, EBARA, ALSTOM and FirstEnergy, to commercialize Ballard(R) fuel cells. Ballard has supplied fuel cells to Honda, Nissan, Volkswagen, Yamaha, Cinergy and Coleman Powermate, among others". | ![]() parvez
