02/3/2021 12:08 | Read back a little on the thread, all on there within the last couple of weeks. | imastu pidgitaswell
02/3/2021 12:07 | Have taken a position here this morning and will add to this on further weakness. Huge drop from recent highs but tomorrow's results could be incredibly positive. What is the expected dividend likely to be as I am seeing EPS significantly higher than previous years. | rogerramjett
02/3/2021 08:22 | I think the Mexico vs Russia thing is the primary reason for the valuation difference. There is a perceived risk of the Russian state potentially doing something untoward towards foreign companies - they did this with BP in the early 2000s. If it happens, there is sweet fa anyone can do. That said, this is a Russian company, listed in London, not a UK company. As I say, it's a risk, and the market values it as such. Also with FRES - the operations and results are complex. Not going to bang on about it here, but they are still in a transition phase to operational status of two major projects, while running down older mines at relatively high expense, so they're spending a lot, but not (yet) getting a return on that spending. As with other sectors, for me it is not either/or, i.e. binary. Better to be invested in both. | imastu pidgitaswell
02/3/2021 08:06 | Look okay but EPS still nowhere near the same ballpark as I expect from POLY and the ensuing dividend that will come with it. Only net cash and some would say having operations in Mexico rather than Russia are plus points for FRES over POLY. If EPS $2 or more then there is no comparsion at current prices. | mickinvest
02/3/2021 08:00 | Seem OK to me Mick - will know from the presentation this afternoon, but initial thoughts on the FRES thread. Cash monster, which makes this a cash, er, big thing... | imastu pidgitaswell
01/3/2021 22:53 | Good luck to those holding Fresnillo in the morning, just thought results were so poor for 1st half it would be a big ask to make the ground up for full year but we'll find out tomorrow. | mickinvest
01/3/2021 20:26 | may i ask the context of your post? | scepticalinvestor
01/3/2021 19:21 | Northern Dynasty interesting | eriktherock
01/3/2021 17:24 | Oh I totally agree. It is just rather fascination viewing the obvious mkt shenanigansi would buy more but have over 6 figures invested here now which is probably a lot more than I should have! | scepticalinvestor
01/3/2021 16:57 | "imastu pidgitaswel Post 1082 "It's Russia. Anyone trying that wouldn't get too far with Vlad..." Didn't stop them over at HGM! :) | geckotheglorious
01/3/2021 16:23 | Sceptical - it probably is; but define manipulation? And in any event, what can you do about it,other than take advantage? It is what it is. A great opportunity. | imastu pidgitaswell
01/3/2021 16:21 | Needs good news to get her moving, Wednesday news will do it | daler1966
01/3/2021 16:16 | just very weird share price action todayhow can this not be manipulation? | scepticalinvestor
01/3/2021 15:49 | Another slug for me, be rude not to ahead of results. | mickinvest
01/3/2021 15:24 | Insane how it is being kept at 1450. Bid on the horizon? | scepticalinvestor
01/3/2021 14:30 | yea agree, very odd | scepticalinvestor
01/3/2021 13:57 | It's Russia. Anyone trying that wouldn't get too far with Vlad... Very murky price action today - sticking like a limpet to 1450 regardless of all else. | imastu pidgitaswell
01/3/2021 12:05 | Surprised no one has tried an HGM "Buy out on the cheap" here given what good value this currently is... Waiting for next sale realisation before buying more of these undervalued puppies.. Is my largest Gold holding ( also hold CEY, Barrick, Kirkland, FURY , and Newmont) And some silver(Aftermath) | geckotheglorious
01/3/2021 11:32 | It is still cheap - wish I had more unallocated cash to buy! | scepticalinvestor
01/3/2021 10:39 | Google, as always, is your friend: Simplistically, mineral resources are basically potential mining sources, whereas ore reserves are a subset (concentration) of mineral resources, definite, mining extraction to be undertaken. In this case, the stuff definitely to be extracted (ore reserves) has increased whereas mineral resources (potential, with ore reserves to follow after studies etc) have decreased. | imastu pidgitaswell
01/3/2021 10:27 | Ore Reserves have increased but Mineral Resources have decreased - what does that mean? | farrugia
01/3/2021 10:07 | I hadn't realised that was out. I'm getting pretty bad at checking for (unscheduled) updates lately. Yes, very good update - I have to say this is one of the best operational performance groups I have come across. Everyone else has something major, be it the pandemic, production shortfalls, ore quality deterioration, reserves replacement, financing, management... But this just continues to deliver, time and time again. Forget 1500, this should be over 2000, nearer 2500 in short order. | imastu pidgitaswell
01/3/2021 09:49 | excellent update on reservesi reckon Wednesday will put it back above 1500 min | scepticalinvestor
27/2/2021 12:30 | Worth mentioning the pound fell from $1.42 to just over $1.392 over the last few days so probably contributed to gold's fall but helps us when converting EPS on Wednesday and for the dividend conversion. | mickinvest |
