cox - I was lucky to be able to buy in when the commodity and oil prices collapsed. I took a look at all the mining companies and BHP has some of the lowest Copper and Iron Ore mining costs. As well as oil also has High grade coal.

With this in place and also gold miners just left me with gas. The gas play I decided upon was Gazprom.

Logan, i agree BHP is a very good pick and i dont think you would go wrong there. I have caml for copper and lek for oil, the stars finally seem to be aligning for the latter after a long haul.

Hi Srp, i dont hold here but it is looking more interesting. I think my bases are already covered with my current combination of caml (copper) and hgm (gold) which are hard to beat in terms of dividend and growth.

Goldman Sachs tells investors to bet on commodities like oil and copper over the next few months, as equities try to rally from the year's flatline trend.

Thanks all for PM suggestions I think silver will be a better mover than gold but that was a stonking poly 580p offer here. I HUM to myself but saudis may want oil at $100 so they can sell off aramco. Oil engineers may be worth a look AMFC, petrofac but lets see if truimp cancels the Iran deal which I think he will. Israelis will do whatever they planned.

"If you want some risk have a look at hummingbird resources (hum)"

Cheers.

Looking to reduce my Political risk as much as possible, preferably with a divi payer Gold side.

IMO
Barrick are not highly leveraged any more. Catherine Raw is turning the company around and I think they will be one of the better performers in the gold space in the years ahead. They are also in politically safe countries. Barring the Tanzania exposure (through acacia).

CEY is one of my biggest holdings and only just got in here.

If you want some risk have a look at hummingbird resources (hum)

@Edjge2

Kirkland Gold right?

Any thoughts on Barrick Gold? Was another gold player I was tentatively looking at - highly leveraged

Am aware of my "high political risk" - Egypt & Russia I currently am exposed to so was looking closer to home for next investment.

Cheers for suggestion

@SRPactive.

Hold Poly, and HGM(like yourself) in addition to RRS, CEY and Medusa, the latter for my sins.

Political risk more my concern than Gold price truth be told. Debt crisis(yet another but worse) and Inflation incoming.

not beyond the realms of possibility. The projects they have are very good, gold could have a decent run if $1360 gets taken out. Trump wants a low $ gold will benefit.

Need to increase their market cap by nearly 50% to around £5.2bln to make any inclusion a certainty.

I do not hold here, but like poly, I hold hgm.

I have said for a little time if poly buy a few smaller
bolt-ons they could easily get close to ftse100 inclusion.

"This Billionaire Has Put Half His Net Worth Into Gold"

Some big investors see warning signs ahead for markets but are holding their positions. Egyptian billionaire Naguib Sawiris is taking action: He’s put half of his $5.7 billion net worth into gold.

He said in an interview Monday that he believes gold prices will rally further, reaching $1,800 per ounce from just above $1,300 now, while “overvalued” stock markets crash.

Brave call. Suspect it's the correct one as well myself.

Should probably be taking some profits here, at 740p they are above 70 on the RSI. interesting that fres and cey are having good days despite gold having been under pressure
