I have bought a few at this price. It may not be the bottom but the dividend looks pretty secure so unlikely to go very much lower.

I had the same dilemma, but consider them significantly undervalued, the ex dividend date is approaching on May 10th, I wanted exposure to gold and given the new unspellable mine is due to open in Q3, I bought a small position today. I am confident that over the next few years I will make a decent profit and possibly 50%. Given that I did not worry too much whether it was the bottom or not.

Since last month the rouble has fallen by about 10% this will likely translate into around a 4-5% fall in operating costs in dollar terms.

ernestsyngen probably prearranged with trump's antigas missiles. Putin's response a little less than expected IMO. Hopefully 20% recovery due here as anything russian hammered yesterday.Gold on the up too. Many good undervalued miners located russia. CEY is good but too near middle east theatre of war which is due to blow when Iran's Obahma nuclear agreement terminated in may. Israelis likely to go rampant then as Iran threatens their peace. Maybe sent some missiles in MEast too yesterday and shot down apparently.
Hopefully Trump as a businessman will roll a few heads, Sessions would be nice!

Trump conferred with his national security advisers later Sunday and told them he was upset the sanctions were being officially rolled out because he was not yet comfortable executing them, according to several people familiar with the plan.

Administration officials said Monday it was unlikely Trump would approve any additional sanctions without another triggering event by Russia, describing the strategy as being in a holding pattern.

Sometime after Haley’s comments on CBS, the Trump administration notified the Russian Embassy in Washington that the sanctions were not in fact coming, a Russian Foreign Ministry official said Monday.

The Trump team decided to publicly characterize Haley’s sanctions announcement as a misstatement.

Nearly all gold production in Russia is bought by the state so at least that is something that we don't need to worry about. The company debt might get impacted by sanctions.

A small positive will be the depreciation of the rouble which will help costs. A trade war or even war should also help gold.

It is high risk. The US are about to announce more sanctions and who knows which companies they will affect? POLY should be safe, but Rusal is a warning against what could happen. There could be a significant bounce if they escape, but Armageddon if they don't.

Possibly to do with the announcements made today. I have just doubled up at 633p. Not a big position because it is quite risky. Given the geopolitical picture.
