IG just reported Q2 (end Nov) at comparable levels to a very strong Q1. Q2 was revenue of £207m for a H1 revenue result of £416m. So for PLUS... no sector signs that their comparable Q4 period shouldn't exceed FY consensus IMO.

IG results are encouraging, maintaining performance. Q2 Rev £207m / Q1 Rev £209m.

IG not too far from its recent tops, will be interesting to see how tomorrow’s results effect it. Would be hard pressed to push on through resistance unless spectacular.

Topped up today, bounced off old resistance (1370), if it recovers it could be a good one.

Share buyback doesn't correlate with share price going up unfortunately. The company is solid however very cyclical in nature. Need to be very vigilant of what the people higher up are doing or could get into a world of pain.

He could just be bored, & decided to sell some shares for no reason other than to get chat going on these forums.

Or hes shorted Plus on on another platform, sold some Plus shares and closed his short...

rHatton, the buy back won't be finished until 21 February or when the Prelims come which ever is the earliest. When it does end it will almost certainly be replaced by another of about the same size, unless they have found another use for the cash generated this year.

Olig1, but also it begs the question if he expected prices to rise in the near term or a big divi announcement in Feb then maybe now wouldn’t be a good time to sell.

The buyback will also be finished in the next couple of weeks probably

What you say about the size of his holdings is right. To be clear, I have much optimism about the company, and expect the share price materially higher by mid 2021.

Simplethesis, I'm not sure what your point is either. He doesn't have inside information is my point. His actions seem perfectly understandable to me. He increased his stake in March when the market went crazy and the price of Plus dropped. I did the same as it was clear what a bargain Plus was at this point. Following an almost double of the price he sold about half of what he bought in March but retains over 80% of his shareholding. To me this is a rebalancing of a portfolio not a vote against Plus. Again I have done the same. If he has special knowledge about Plus and doesn't believe its prospects are great he would be mad to have sold less than 20% of his holding.

So what are you saying simple?

“ How good is your edge compared to the founder of the business?”

If he’s selling then that’s not good short term?

olig1 - your statement is correct, but very not the point. Mr Gonen is the founder. He’s made more than £300m from the company. He bought back in late last year and again in March, in sums that look big but are a fraction of his wealth.

This is a company where the customer income has some degree of predictability, and the company said in late October how Q4 had started, but customer trading performance does not, indeed the last statement makes clear how volatile this has been. This is company that can have negative revenues, in the short term.

How lucky do you feel?
How good is your edge compared to the founder of the business?

He's not a director.

Yeah that's definitely a red flag for this company. Look at the history of directors buys and sells and how the share price moves afterwards.

Founder lightening his load. Good gain from when he bought them but I wonder does that signal the top at the mo

They don't tend to issue trading updates until after the period end, so I wouldn't expect anything until January

With no statement issued maybe they are trading just inline.

Should be a pre close update late December or early January.

The guidance they gave at Q3 implied a poor Q4 and by implication a poor 2021 (which is the analysts prediction as you'd expect).

The longer PLUS don't issue a profit upgrade before the Y/E(they only have 3 weeks) the more the market will consider they were serious and not just conservative .......... and therefore worry.

Personally I would have thought there's still enough volatility around for them to make money and the increase in customer numbers should give them organic growth.

The market already knows 2020 has been Stellar, as simple has said it’s about 2021 earnings and in 6-7 months time it will become about 2022 earnings. This is of course not including earnings surprises either way

One wonders with the market always forward looking how this will climb above the 1600s. Until it is maybe obvious that 2021 estimates are low ish the market will be looking at 2022, wonder if any broker will stick their neck out and start raising estimates for 2021 and beyond.
Plus have just told them to expect inline
