It really does not matter. The next trading update will begin to show whether or not the theory that regulation is actually not a big negative, akin to the experience which similar operators in Asia had.

PLUS have always argued that it would (in the medium term) be a net positive, something perhaps a little lost in the apparently conservative H1 statement.

On Playtech, I guess they saw the success of the 8% sale and wanted a piece of it. Looks like some of the buyers were not the strong hands of yesterday!

But there you go, if you believe, buy it cheaper today.

Goodbody analysts said the stake sale comes as no surprise ahead of Playtech's upcoming refinancing of about 1 billion euros ($1.16 billion) of debt to fund its purchase of a stake in Italian betting and gaming firm Snaitech

I would love to hear your theory on Plus500. You say you have a feeling what is going off. Care to share? Always good to read both sides.

Seems to me Plus is maturing and the shareholder base is going to be more diversified as we hit the 250. It also seems probable that as this process continues the share price will be based on a similar to IG or the like.Equally, for playtech to go is good. It's not personal but any connection to Sagi is not good. The founders want to enjoy their success, so good luck to them. They aren't running the company.Institutions taking all these shares is positive. Not a guaranteed positive in terms of price action but no chance they take such a large chunk without visibility and, as a result of that visibility, confidence.Today and the next few sessions might be wonderful for traders (short and long), but the next update will IMO confirm why the institutions were happy to take such a significant slug. Maybe before.

Probably because they couldnt sell anymore, and so not to spook the share price, for now anyway

I am sure as soon as they get the opportunity to they will

Why would they leave themselves 8% ?

If you buy shares, you buy them and they mean something to you, if an insti buys shares he buys them for his fund

As is well known, most fund managers dont outperform their comparable index. So just because instis buy it shouldnt be looked at as positive

The founders selling yet more is the important one for me. There is a high yeild here, yet they still chosse to sell, maybe they dont expect it to last

Couple of points.

First the fall of Bitcoin is probably affecting sentiment.

Second, the Playtech shares have been placed at 1540 so institutions want them. Founders shares likewise.

Founders selling before the consequences of ESMA are known. The directors of Playtech selling before the consequences of ESMA are known.

However, Playtech’s directors will have had one month’s insightinto how ESMA’s new rules are affecting the performance of its retail CFD business, Markets.com
