Me too Fangorn. Very impressed with the interview. Not so sure about the company but will have a look at the results and figures.

Cheers,
Steve.

Indeed Davidosh, and what a superb interview it was. Just signed into this board as a direct result of the interview. Off to check their website, financials with a view to an investment. :)

Cerrito

I'm going to view today's news as v positive.

Cenkos appear to have done very little for PLA - Insti interest is limited & there is only a small pool of high net worth PIs following the company. Liquidity is poor & spreads are therefore wide.

First Columbus look a very proactive bunch on the face of it & success with PLA will be a pretty big feather in a pretty small cap. They look to have a focus on building supportive shareholder bases & seem to think that the share price is important.

I recently discussed the limited shareholder base & illiquidity issues with Nick Ball. He obliquely hinted that something was in train & that he was well aware of these "problems". He was as good as his word & that makes a pleasant change compared to most AIM executives.

Not quite sure why they need someone I had never heard of and who do not have a very powerful client list to be joint broker..perhaps Cenkos is letting them down

You're not the brightest spark are you.

The net gain figure from new accounts is in the RNS. Post here again when you've learnt to read.

Can these people count ?

We won 18 new key accounts during the year so hitting our target of one to two per month. Unfortunately, we have had a worse than normal year for account losses, with six accounts lost during the year. Three of these losses were due to unusual circumstances

one to two is a big big difference. They lost six accounts were they bigger than then the 18 they have won ?

Blog post:

Cliffs:

Weak but probably expected
Not particularly concerned about debt
Hopefully a reasonable 'base' level given factors involved
Slightly mixed messages on growth and capital expenditure
Founder/shareholder departure potentially concerning

Thought results were a little disappointing but I guess PLA cannot really escape unscathed from the global slowdown. Shares look a little expensive relative to the market given the high debt so wouldn't be surprised if further falls were on the cards. Glad liquidity problems stopped me jumping on board recently. Hopefully some of that buying strength is still hovering in the background and will allow sellers looking to raise some cash to do so. Otherwise it looks like you might be stranded here for a while yet.

The Company regularly adds back amortisation of intangibles to show its adjusted earnings. This is appropriate if the intangibles have been acquired on acquisition and management decided at the time to allocate part of the goodwill paid to specific intangible headings like customer relationships.

It is not appropriate if intangibles represent capitalised spending by the company (e.g R&D). I have looked at the 2011 accounts and cannot tell the origins of the significant capitalised intangibles balance.

Can any one shed any light on this?

I am also frustrated management continue to chose to treat costs like the opening of the new sales office in China as an exceptional. This is surely just part and parcel of developing the business.

The results are fairly predictable given the current slow down in the global economy, so I am not too disheartened.

Of more concern is the resignation from the board of one of the co-founders who holds just over 7% of the equity. Does anyone know the real reason for his departure?

Results not at all what I was hoping for. I expected to see solid growth. Sold.

The RNS does give details of one planned £0.5m investment that was postponed and will be re-considered in the current financial year.

Not happy about the postponent of capital projects lined up to support organic growth.

This is not how we were guided by Faisal & Nick Ball at the Barbican event. Then we were presented with a world of organic growth opportunities & the committment to go for them.

My plan to increase my holding is now off - we need answers on the "growth" anomolies from both of the execs. Time to ask some questions!

Very honest commentary. So so results and forecast.
Didn't float my boat, so sold the small holding I had left.

Should do well if the world doesn't go down the pan, but better options elsewhere currently for me.

Good luck all remaining holders.

Respectable results, I suppose, tho' I had hoped for flat sales, at least, instead of a drop. However, the debt has fallen again. A few notes in the report about acquistions - not too sure about this when they also talk about not investing in machinery to increase production?

Looks like good support at 74p, bouncing off the 200ma twice. Full year results due 27th June, which should make the Mello event in July interesting if the directors are able to attend.
