I think charo means Coral Products (CRU) an AIM quoted commodity DVD case maker with a tiny market cap of £4m. It's a truly stupid idea!

The reason that the PLA is falling is solely down to illiquidity in a mad market. One seller of 50k shares is responsible for the vast majority of today's fall. In my view there is nothing wrong with PLA & I'm hanging onto my shares (average price 34p) until at least 200p & expect to see that by end 2012.

Short term market turmoils will not panic me into selling a long term holding.

Coral are a bookmakers ! Why would they look at a plastics company ? You need to do some proper research and then you might understand PLA. What management changes ? High margin and low rating is exactly what I like to see in my investments so nothing to fear in that.

Found this useful review of PLA on a blog I've recently discovered - well worth a read:

I can't make the Mello dinner as much as I want to talk to Faisal again. Can you try to pin him down on the status of his acquisition program - especially his view on debt vs equity.

BTW, what is Mello?

How many tables do you need Hangers ?

PLA are actually the second best performing company that has attended over the last year or so...

Just to let you all know that Faisal and Nick will be coming to our Mello investment dinner event on the Monday of the following week in Beckenham...18th July to review the year since they presented to us and provide any answers to investors about the final results just released.

I've been to a couple of these dos in the past & they are certainly worthwhile. I found Faisal & Nick Ball approachable, charming & forthcoming.

It certainly gave me the confidence to build a nice stake slowly over the last year & I'm v well in profit now - but there's loads more to come.

Sounds like it might be worth going along to. Free drinks afterwards and a chance to ask some questions.

For me the most interesting bit of yesterday's release was the hint that they would be back on the acquisition trail within a few months.

Couple the 100%+ organic eps growth that coming over the next 3 years to some acquired eps growth plus a re-rating to a "growth" P/E of 10-12 & we've then got a pretty good looking investment.

nice solid results, 4.4 million paid off the debt, eps 11.4p. 20 new accounts targeted, new territories opened

Had a good look at the results; will need to wait till the annual report gives us details on sales and profits for the two product lines.
Interesting comment that global demand has paused
Good to see that net cash flow from operating activities went up from £2m to £2.5m between the first and second semester although there was only a very small growth in gross and operating profit.
With a pe of just over 8 and optimistic comments on the future, I see room for some share price increase

Had a quick glance at the results - look v. satisfactory so added a few more before the price goes up.

charles stanley was house broker. Not sure if they still are;

Plastics Capital, the niche industrial plastic product manufacturer, announced that their final results to March 2011 are anticipated to be in line with market expectations (its broker was forecasting an EPS of 9.6p as of February 21st).

Trading has continued to improve, partly due to the recovery of the global economy and partly as the company has generated new business. The board is confident that these new business successes will sustain solid profit growth for 2011/12.

Seems to be a growing interest in PLA ahead of Monday's results (if volume of 25k is deemed to be influential...!).

Let's see what Faisal produces in those results. I note Electronica above suggests an EPS of 12p, which is more than achievable given H1 EPS was 7p. However, I see on Digital Look that the 'concensus' (of one broker) is for 20p ! Does anyone know who the broker is, or has seen their note?

That renegotiation of the debt could potentially have saved PLA about £200k per year in interest charges and costs IMO as I think the RBS deal was rather expensive due to the conditions when it was set.

Great to see the banking arrangements secured over the next 4 years - & with a hint of a future divi.

With the "debt problem" out of the way how long before PLA is treated as a "normal" company worthy of investment consideration (and at a P/E of 10-12)?

Let's see what Monday's prelim finals bring. An eps of 12p+ could see us firmly on the road to a 140-150p share price within 6-8 months.
