12/8/2021 16:32 | With than 20k buy there might just be another 11k to go or less and it will pop up tomorrow I suspect. If I had not been full invested I would have snapped them up. One interesting thing that Zotefoams - ZTF spoke about the other day when they took part in a video presentation, was when they spoke of the business they do with Nike and the effect of the close down in Vietnam - as a huge amount of shoes are made there. The point being vivobarefoot.com also source shoes from Vietnam and PTD are a very large supplier to them - so it more than likely that they will be increasing the amount of business with PTD's Ethiopian factory. Entire supply chains are being hit because of closures over there, which can only be good for Pittards as I doubt if they source much leather PTD to make Nike trainer. | clocktower
12/8/2021 14:32 | I just spotted the buy - this is the first for a week or two and surprising that Pittards have not picked up more to go into treasury bearing in mind they have paid up to 56.5p as recently as 16 July 2021 as per RNS below. "Further to the announcement on 11 June which outlined the Company's share buyback programme, Pittards plc (AIM: PTD), the AIM listed manufacturer of specialty leather, announces that on 16 July 2021 it purchased 10,000 of its own ordinary shares of 50p each ("Ordinary Shares") at a price of 56.5 pence to be held as treasury shares." Checking yesterdays trades a see a late transaction sell of 32k of shares went through at 51p at around 18.20pm | clocktower
12/8/2021 08:28 | There must be a large seller around as I can buy at under 54p (which is lower than stock was sold at yesterday) but I cannot even sell 500 online. The MM have closed shop at the moment on this. | clocktower
11/8/2021 17:10 | I am surprised that it took the MM so long to drop the bid offer as stock was available this morning at 54.8p after the earlier sell. Could it have dropped because the MM have wind of a RNS tomorrow? A trading update is really due. | clocktower

09/8/2021 09:41 | A few interesting snips from vivobarefoot report: Seems to me that they have a very close working partnership with Pittards that are bringing rewards to both parties. "Working with local and regional suppliers is something we’re committed to – it helps to build and ensure added value remains in the producer country rather than simply extracting value, as so many supply chains do. One way we’re trying to do this is by scaling up our partnership with our cotton supplier of natural canvas in Ethiopia so that we are sourcing more cotton grown in Ethiopia. This cotton is dyed using natural minerals and plant materials. Pittards are also reintroducing packaging from Kenya to replace packaging previously sourced from China" "We're at the beginning stages of setting up pilot programmes to assess the feasibility and integration of regenerative agriculture principles into the production and processing of our key raw materials. We’re starting with wild hide this year in our Ethiopian value chain. In order to better understand which monitoring and verification tools and metrics we should use we are exploring new industry standards such as The Regenerative Organic Certification and The Savoury Institute’s Ecological Outcome Verification – Land to Market programme. In the future we expect this approach, especially when combined with CleanChain, will help us measure and monitor impacts for each of our products across our range." "In order to intimately understand our value chain, we’re monitoring aspects of manufacturing, processes and governance through our Vhubs programme with our supplier partner Pittards, in Ethiopia. Pittards has rolled out CleanChain, which means uploading their supply chain, assessing their performance against our Best Practice Policy and adding in their chemical inventory. Some metrics we’re monitoring this year jointly with Pittards include: • Energy, water and waste consumption (tannery & factory sites) quarterly • Installation of renewable energy technologies • Regenerative agriculture and biodiversity projects across wild hide, cotton and rewilding • The sourcing of more sustainable materials for our products • Waste reduction with a view towards circularity • Chemical management at sites, including natural dying options and vegetable tanning for the leather • Worker training across the tannery and factory sites Our engagement with Pittards has been a learning curve to work with a supplier so closely in a joint trajectory towards best practice. These learnings form the blueprint for Vivo manufacturing going forward with all of our suppliers" | clocktower
03/8/2021 14:09 | As there have been a few sells of late and they have not purchased any more shares to hold in treasury this week so far, it will be interesting if they have stopped or just waiting to see if they can pick up any more at around 56p which I think is around the top price they have paid to date. Last year I think they provided a trading update in July, so hopefully one should be provided before to long. | clocktower
30/7/2021 09:16 | A story on long service awards at Pittards on 28 July. The celebrations start. | clocktower
23/7/2021 17:10 | New video from Pittards posted on 22.07.2021 Look how busy they are making shoes for Vivobarefoot.com Loads of staff busy making shoes in Ethiopia. No wonder the directors have been buying stock and the company have been buying its own shares to hold in treasury. | clocktower
23/7/2021 13:38 | LOL - I am so glad S as to loose such a knowledgeable poster that has an outstanding ability with numbers, would be a great loss to many threads that you have posted on. What caught my eye to come back to the thread today was the buy of 1k at 56.75p - unless they manage to draw out a few more it seems to me that there is so little stock that it will jump very soon even without formal news if the leaks start as the accounts are prepared. We might see a number of small buys popping up I guess which could drive the share price as there is so little stock around. As you are the numerical expert, if you have a moment could you look at how few are likely to be floating after the directors and companies recent buys that are being held in treasury, bearing in mind all the major holdings that are as stated on the company website. You see I would like to confirm, what I have estimated to be the remaining floating stock and the limited amount that is likely to be sold under £1. By the way they are offering very few just under the 58p mark now. The MM cannot have much stock and if even a few traders were to jump aboard this would fly but the facts will make that happen in any case. You just have to look how good Mulberry numbers came in at bearing in mind the were due to forecast a loss, and the forward prospects are great there as well. | clocktower
22/7/2021 22:51 | false alarm ! happily that skeleton is not me !!, since my bones have no blue colour & I'm still alive & kicking & typing ! je je well, today anyway ! | smithie6
22/7/2021 10:27 | The company still adding and squeezing what loose stock there is. Beats me why there is not more interest in the stock following the stream of direct buys and company purchases, when the prospects for recovery are so strong. I cannot wait to hear the next trading statement, as I expect the shares will rocket when received. | clocktower
21/7/2021 09:54 | The results from Mulberry today are another positive, as they show the level of recovery going on in the leather industry. As G P Davis FCA is on our board as well as MUL I expect PTD will show the same or better level of recovery over the past six months as well. If you like something a bit macabre take a look at the link of the one off leather piece. It struck me that it might have been modeled on you S. :-) | clocktower
20/7/2021 23:08 | Lol S - your a negative blighter. :-) Good to see you back. That was in Ethiopia and I doubt if they have the same standards as the High Fashion Houses of London or Paris and limited facilities. Maybe you would be happy if they arranged to dress the astronauts in leather and send them into space with a placard - Out of the Pits and into Space with Pittards share price. Success comes at different levels. | clocktower
20/7/2021 10:55 | terrible a 12 year old could do a better job lighting so bad that models are just a dark shadow ! ---- the 2 presenters are wearing leather that is the same colour as pooh. not what you want for presenters. ---- the world is competitive, there are other companies out there making competing products incompetent people will not be the winners successful people, Branson, Steve Jobs, Amazon boss, Lineker, have skills & drive & do well. | smithie6
19/7/2021 09:42 | New Pittards Leather Fashion Show | clocktower
19/7/2021 07:11 | Well today’s RNS once again demonstrates the confidence about current and future trading imo. But he picked them up at below the bid price on Friday and not long after what looked like a sell three lots were traded at around 56/57p. We might see more life again this week as there seems to be very little available stock floating around, after all the director buying and the company buying to be held in treasury, over the past nine months.. | clocktower
12/7/2021 15:25 | I was checking back on the thread that I started on 6 May 2021 - only a matter of weeks ago and I noticed this post the day after: "PUGUGLY7 May '21 - 18:57 - 2 of 244(premium) 0 0 1 Personal marker at 50/53- MC £7.3M" Here we are on 12 July and I thought I would just put another marker in if PUGUGLY should return to the thread. 54/58 - MC £7.9M I expect the next marker within the same period of time to be 95/99. Upwards and onwards. | clocktower
09/7/2021 14:58 | Just one small buy has move the market, with just two MM on offer at 58p with a little more volume it could soon take off imo. Will the company buy more for treasury next week? | clocktower
08/7/2021 09:44 | So now they hold over 950,000 shares in treasury, and at todays price that's over £500,000.00 worth, so now sitting on a decent pile when they are used to cover options that only kick off once the share price hits 70p One wonders if they purchased the 5k of shares at 56p soon after another buyer picked up the remaining 2k at just 55p - a steal this morning. If so another RNS tomorrow I guess. Should soon pass 60p as it seems there is not a lot of floating stock, as the company are holding so many. | clocktower
07/7/2021 16:02 | Still some available at 55p online, having done a dummy buy, so a big premium was paid - the buyer of 10k got had it seems by the MM. | clocktower
07/7/2021 15:22 | I wonder if that 10k buy is another company purchase, and whoever it is, has had to pay a premium to the quote of 1,000 for 10k of shares. | clocktower |
