Walker seems overdone on trades of 25000,can't understand even if they are about to purchase something why it would cause such a markdown.Hey maybe it'll bounce just as quick.

Whats going on here then, dont tell me they have hit the skids just over one week from reporting record results.

Or more likely are they about to spend some of their balance sheet money.!!!

Someone wants out!

Mkt cap 5.83m
Cash 1.47m
Profit 634,000

Funny old game this!

I note your post Big, it does make you wonder due to there size why these are a PLC at all and not taken private, after all with only 24.28% as free float they could afford too. If I was King thats exactly what I would do. Then he could live like one!!!

What with all this water falling from the sky,and a lot of us knee deep in the stuff !!, their environmental services should keep busy and could get very busy with LAs concerning :contanminated land, drainage, flood risk assesments, legionella etc.

Just had a look at the number and they are encouraging. However they have over 2 mil intangible assets on the balance sheet - presumably relating to goodwill from acquisitions. These will have to be written down at some point (my personal view is they should be written down immediately) and could be a drag on headline numbers for a while yet. Apart from that a nice business in a fragmented sector that is doing very well. I have held in the past but sold my shares back to the company late last year when I had the opportunity.

These shares would have been better off staying Plus Markets - big fish in a small pool - rather than the other way round.

Yes battle, its difficult to see which division is doing what, but as King states :

"Note that some general health and safety training and consultancy assignments carried out by particular trading subsidiaries will have been invoiced by other Group companies as in previous years, thus it is difficult to make direct performance comparisons.Reference should be made to the Group's overall performance".

However a great collective performance, and the future with King and his team driving this, and Mike Miller (NE) as King says "Mike has been valuable in introducing and assessing companies suitable for acquisition by the Company".

With their balance sheet the way it stands, they could comfortably spend 2-3 million on another company transforming deal, and at the same time buff up their management team, and by the sound of it, its not long coming.

Exciting times ahead me thinks,we will see.

Interesting to see that PHS consulting had slightly less turnover this year but increased profits by nearly 40%,hope this can be continued next year.Good to see that turnover for the first two months is up nearly 30,000 so 800,000 looks possible next year.

Well they beat forcasts :

Year Ending Revenue (£m) Pre-tax (£m) EPS P/E PEG EPS Grth. Div Yield
31-Mar-07 4.50 0.60 12.40p 4.2 0.0 +377% 0.80p 1.5%
31-Mar-08 5.30 0.75 10.10p 5.2 n/a -18% 0.86p 1.6%

So with the aquisition or aquisitions we are looking good for 2008.

Excellent results.

Not sure why that hasn't caused an uplift in the share price.

Might take the market a few days to get its head round the news.

"PHSC plc is currently involved in discussions with two companies that would be attractive acquisition targets, and will report on progress in due course".

If they use the cash wisely we could be looking at future profits of 900,000 plus.

Silverdell SID interim results today looked good and statement:

The asbestos marketplace continues to provide plenty of work and it is clear
that with regulation creating even greater awareness of the problems caused by
asbestos, the business has a lot more potential to grow during the coming years.

Good pointer for ALS.

Oh and by the way SID 12 month share price move +98%.

Sorry Walker i had to use another computer this morning, it's not broadband and takes ten minutes to load a page like that and i didn't have time then. The service engineers were inspecting mine.Anyhow the webpage looks great and that client list is very exstensive and the variety of work is a surprise to me i'm amazed at what they can cover.

Looks like the HSE are taking the rise in contruction deaths seriously,1000 nationwide inspections will take place on construction sites throughout June and July. That will keep them on their toes.

RSA Environmental Health Ltd now have 22 vacancies as their web site says:

"RSA has a variety of exciting job opportunities for environmental health practitioners looking to enjoy the benefits of flexible contract work or if you just want a change in full-time employment. We are currently undertaking exacting contracts for many local authorities and private sector companies, 75% of which return to use RSA again and again!"

I will add if the HSE are cutting back on staff numbers these temp positions will become easier to fill.

Link should work if not go the long way round !!! anyroad up if you go to "brochure" and then to the bottom of that page, there is a long list (50+)of "some of our clients"

I know at acquisition on 9.Jan.2007,they stated that their revenues where small at 238000 to 31 May 06, but I would think with the client list they claim to have and the weight of the PHSC group behind them, that their revenues will be transformed...I hope - we will see.
