Midas - City Index (stonex) stopped me buying but didn't make me sell. I kinda wish they had because this all happened a lot higher up.

Not a big surprise, but I'm not a big fan of "The latter is associated with the head of Rosneft, Igor Sechin."
Political risk remains from both directions.
I also think the debt issue is still a concern.
I remain a large holder. If I had halved/cut at 16p, which I was close to doing, I would have had dry powder to buy a lot. Of course I may have spent all this between 10 and 5p.....

The share price has been hammered down to crazy levels due to the main man selling out due to his financial interests coupled with the War sentiment etc!

This is a very RARE!! opportunity to claw back any losses that any investor has made to date, just don't leave it too late.
The closing share price is not factual as it is a lot higher.

Good luck folks

Shrukov selling his share is good news. I'm now wondering if the old Pavel team will be back now! If so then share price should rocket. We might see Dubai investors coming back buying POG shares with price currently so cheap why would they not buy . Also the main man sold the stake.

I think just a patience of few months is required and we will rerate massively. Strukov selling off is a good news for me. He was not letting the price going up IMO. I'm not selling until we see 12-15p. Hold for gold!

More investors will join from EVR and POLY considering their dividends cancelled.

Good luck in your positions !!!

Part 2

As you can see, over the two years of owning a large block of shares in Petropavlovsk, Strukov lost a lot of money. At the moment, the value of a 29.18% stake in Petropavlovsk is estimated on the London Stock Exchange at $28 million. He paid $170 million, sold for about $28 million. Business is on the verge of fantasy, you can’t say anything.

The question is why it was necessary to sell a promising gold mining business, which, as you know, is always in price. Moreover, it’s not so expensive when the market dipped significantly and the shares depreciated. They sell quickly and inexpensively when money is badly needed. Konstantin Strukov, apparently, needs them and, indeed, very much.
Themselves to blame

Strukov himself could have made a lot of efforts to reduce the cost of Petropavlovsk. Recall that after he and Sviblov got the opportunity to manage the company, they immediately changed top management. A large-scale corporate conflict arose, as a result of which the founder of Petropavlovsk Pavel Maslovsky, financial director Danila Kotlyarov and minority shareholders close to them were actually removed from the management of the enterprise.

And for Maslovsky, everything ended with criminal prosecution and arrest. He was suspected of fraud - embezzlement of funds from a subsidiary of Petropavlovsk - Pokrovsky Mine JSC. Another scandal was associated with this company, when people representing the new owners in the person of Strukov and Sviblov showed up at the Pokrovsky office in Moscow. Apparently they were looking for some documents. They took a whole brigade of young men with them, and the recently appointed head of the Petropavlovsk Group of Companies, Maxim Meshcheryakov, led the procession. RBC wrote about this. Everything that happened was somewhat reminiscent of a classic raider capture from the 90s. Just like those that were attributed to "Rosbuilding" in the years when Strukov's partner Vladislav Sviblov worked there.

In January 2022, it became known that the MKS engineering company, one of the largest counterparties of the YuGK gold mining holding, is trying to seize tens of millions of rubles from Strukov through the courts. As Pravda UrFO reported, the ISS did not receive a full payment from Strukov's YuGK after the work was completed. Accordingly, the ISS filed a lawsuit and won - SGC was ordered to transfer 74 million rubles of debt and more than 18 million rubles of a penalty.

At the same time, YuGK itself filed a lawsuit, trying to invalidate the general contractor agreement with the MKS Group, referring to certain "enslaving conditions". Did Mr. Strukov's managers really not know what they signed up for? The disputes were over general contracting agreements at the price of 160 m

And there's more

To the bottom with gold: where was Strukov going?

Author: Georgy Brzhevsky, Today at 11:38

Increasingly stringent sanctions, pressure from the tax authorities, and ordinary residents of the Chelyabinsk region may persuade Konstantin Strukov to flee the country. And who then will be responsible for the financial obligations of his companies?
To the bottom with gold: where was Strukov going?

According to the correspondent of The Moscow Post in the Chelyabinsk region, the Region Group became the owner of a 29.18% stake in the gold mining company Petropavlovsk. Earlier, billionaire Konstantin Strukov, deputy chairman of the Legislative Assembly of the Chelyabinsk region, owned exactly the same package. Apparently, Strukov could not "survive" the consequences of the corporate conflict in the Petropavlovsk company, as well as the claims of the tax authorities regarding his other businesses. Obviously, the situation with Strukov is such that he, it seems, urgently needed money. Otherwise, I would not have sold my share, according to experts, many times cheaper than I bought it.
Not the best time

On March 8, it became known that the owner of the largest stake in Petropavlovsk changed hands. The Kommersant publication reported that 29.18% of Petropavlovsk, operating in the Amur Region, is now owned by Sergey Sudarikov's Region Group of Companies. The latter is associated with the head of Rosneft, Igor Sechin.

Previously, one of the richest businessmen of the Chelyabinsk region, deputy chairman of the local legislative assembly, Konstantin Strukov, owned exactly the same package. The sale of this asset was predicted. There were several reasons. This is a protracted corporate conflict in the Petropavlovsk company itself, these are the problems of Strukov's companies with the tax authorities, which threatened bankruptcy. But Strukov sold his stake, obviously not at the best time for this.

Recall that the appearance of Konstantin Strukov among the shareholders of Petropavlovsk, one of the largest gold mining companies in Russia, was accompanied by a loud scandal. The absorption of Petropavlovsk, which has signs of an unfriendly one, was carried out by Strukov not without the participation of his longtime partner Vladislav Sviblov, a native of the infamous Rosbuilding company.

Sviblov owned a 4.62% stake in Petropavlovsk. In February 2020, Strukov acquired 22.37% of the shares of this company, as well as bonds that could be converted into 5.97% of the shares, from Roman Protsenko’s Aeon Mining through the Yuzhuralzoloto Group of Companies (SGC), controlled by Yuzhuralzoloto. At the time of the purchase, the deal was valued at $170 million.

As suspected then. The 29% acquired by Region is Konstantin Strukovs stake which he only recently bought. The last I read he had his own battles to fight with the Russian tax authorities.

What we don't know is how much was paid. The problem is if he's bought the 29% for peanuts and bought another 2% to take him over the 30%, then he only has to offer the highest price he paid in the event of a takeover, which, in theory, could be lower than where it is today......

I see that there's no condemnation of the Russian invasion or expression of concern at the shelling of civilians in today's RNSes, like other Western companies trading with Russia have stated. I suppose Putin might arrest the POG directors under his new "fake news" law if they use the words "war" or "invasion", but you would have thought they would have at least mentioned the suffering of civilians. Money talks.

Well done (so far!) to those who bought in near the ridiculous lows on Friday / Monday. Great to see those 2 RNSs this morning. Pretty much what I posted on Friday after my chat with Max. As I said at the time I didn’t want to influence anyone’s decisions, but if some bought feeling reassured, then that’s great, even if you’ve sold since! Onwards and upwards!
