16/3/2017 08:39 | "As at 15 March 2017, the Company has hedged 459koz of gold at US$1,253/oz over 2017-2019". That's a big hedge for POG, a whole years production. They also had 50K ounces hedged at $1303 an ounce in December. I guess it makes sense, so for the next year the price of gold is secure and they are guaranteed to generate enough cash to pay for POX. Downside is that if gold rockets they won't get the benefit til next year. | wallywoo
16/3/2017 08:38 | Nice move in gold and gold stocks this morning! tsmith2, you obviously are not an investor in POG, and clearly, an employee. Can you please get back to work and use your shovel not your keyboard. | bambo1
16/3/2017 07:49 | Excellent update | tsmith2
16/3/2017 07:12 | All still on track then. Clearly frustration at all levels with current share price hey ho. Maybe we will now start see some positive reaction at last? Very overdue IMO. DL | davidlloyd
16/3/2017 07:12 | double post | davidlloyd
15/3/2017 16:22 | Biggest volume for a while....end of seller or just managing to clear more today...either way if stock holds up could be positive sign.imho. | kooba
15/3/2017 13:29 | One of the annoying things about POG is that he is 72. This would not be so bad but most of the other board members are Russian, so he ends up doing most of the PR/IR talks. They would be much better off having a more with it English speaking spokesman, that is for sure. | wallywoo
15/3/2017 13:08 | wallywoo, so what you are saying is that Peter went on BBC Business Live to tell the world that: 1. Nothing has changed from the announcement in January. 2. The Company is carrying on as normal. Seems a little pointless to me, and a wonderful opportunity lost, to sell/promote the Company. Carrying on as normal is not what the markets need to hear. Sounds like you are saying he has lost the plot and needs to go. | bambo1
15/3/2017 10:13 | Well to me after seeing it, he implied: 1) Nothings changed from announcement in January 2) Company just getting on with what they do best - producing and expanding gold prod And that is plenty enough for me to wait another 5 weeks. There is lots of fear and greed in the mining sector, you see huge rises and falls in very short periods. The share price current action is just par for the course IMO | wallywoo
15/3/2017 10:03 | Wallywoo, Thanks for explaining that to me. That's important, but it still begs the question, why on earth did he accept the invitation to appear on the BBC if he couldn't explain the current position of the company? Better to decline and wait until after the next results IMO. | tymedici
15/3/2017 09:53 | Tymedici - POG are 5 weeks away from announcing their annual results and Q1 production figures. Hambro has to be very careful what he says before that (stock market rules). You have to read between the lines. | wallywoo
15/3/2017 09:36 | Peter Hambro's appearance on BBC 1 Business this morning was a complete waste of a wonderful opportunity to explain the current performance of the company. Move over Pete. | tymedici
15/3/2017 09:13 | There is a potential share consolidation too galeforce. In theory that should effect nothing, but in practice I have seen a share price take a while to get on a firm footing again if that is on the cards. I hope they will leave off for a while yet until POG recovers. | wallywoo
15/3/2017 09:05 | bambo - I disagree. It was good to see PH on the TV, reminding us what a big, solid business this is, that Russia is a well-run country and that they have good relations with the Amur regional govt.. It all reminded why I'd decided to invest in POG last year, and why I intend to remain an investor in the hope that things come right and the company achieves a more sensible market cap. I saw a post on this BB yesterday by someone saying he'd spoken to the company and they said they intended to put out some news about something soon. That's interesting. What could this news be about I wonder? Something to do with REnova or the Sberbank commodity-based loan I suspect. More likely the former. | galeforce1
15/3/2017 09:00 | Actually bambo, that said everything I needed to know, thanks. Storm in a tea cup springs to mind. | wallywoo
15/3/2017 08:58 | It was not worth watching, Peter said absolutely nothing other than that he could do nothing about the share price dropping as his job was simply to produce gold. Not sure why the interview took place! | bambo1
15/3/2017 08:46 | Peter Hambro coming on Business Live (BBC TV) shortly | bambo1
15/3/2017 08:10 | v v little volume. MMs taking advantage | tsmith2
15/3/2017 07:16 | I fail to understand why this company can't copy the same 'dilute to deleverage' policy of Lonmin? Elimination of the debt will transform the business. Yes, it will dilute current shareholders but the absolute value of their holdings will over time regain their value | mirabeau
15/3/2017 07:02 | you need to have gone through the 5 stages of grief/loss...and finish up in the acceptance mode, accepting it's a dog going nowhere..... Wallywoo et al seem to be stuck in denial stage, forever.....not the river | deanroberthunt
14/3/2017 16:33 | m_n_tomlinson14 Mar '17 - 16:19 - 46116 of 46116 My point wasn't selling at a loss in terms of the price an individual acquired their shares at but the fact that nothing is forcing one to sell at a loss unless there's a reason why they need those funds on an urgent basis, which is what I felt you implied. Say your average was 7p, well selling at 5.9p (or lower) would of course be a significant loss, but only if you were to sell. Nothing will force me to sell, on the current fundamentals/situati | cl2201
14/3/2017 16:19 | Cheers cl2201 ..then why would investors have to sell at a heavy loss? Depends how long you've been in this. Pre rights days? | m_n_tomlinson
14/3/2017 16:16 | Volume is so low, could do with a huge clearing day. For what its worth I think these will be taken out, I've seen the share price fall before a takeout many times. | celeritas
14/3/2017 16:07 | m_n_tomlinson14 Mar '17 - 16:01 - 46111 of 46112 My fear is they take it below 5p. The results are bad, thereby ensnaring everybody, and the only way out for investors is to sell at a heavy loss. The results shouldn't be bad, as per the last update. However, you should use your fear to gauge what risk, if any, you are willing to take. It also depends if you are a trader or investor - I'm willing to sit on these shares for a long period of time whereas some might see a few weeks/months as too long. As long as you own the shares (i.e. not via a spreadbet) then why would investors have to sell at a heavy loss? | cl2201
14/3/2017 16:07 | It could just be a tree shake, but I'm so damn pessimistic with this share! Pete Hambro, can't you just do the investors and share holders a favour just for once in your lifetime, instead of pandering to the hedge funds and short sellers! | m_n_tomlinson |
