30/11/2016 09:17 | In the medium term the weather might turn out to be a good thing. Gold price currently going through a low patch, so if production fell this year to say 430K ounces it would not be a bad thing if: a) high grade ore early in 2017 when historically the GP has perked up b) high grade ore also from underground mining (due to start early 17) I understand investors being cynics here. A lot of people have lost a lot of money in the past. But with refinancing finished, and gold bull market (maybe) with further to run makes this an interesting bet IMO Worth mentioning that many gold miners that are producing 500K + ounces have a lot more debt than POG (eg POLY $1.4B) So getting debt down now (although important) is not the most important thing IMO. Becoming much more profitable is, and with refinancing and high grade on the way that is increasingly likely | wallywoo

26/11/2016 12:56 | The rising value of IRC on the HKSE has to be very significantly positive for POG. Not only does POG own 35.8% of IRC, but it guarantees $276m of IRC debt. AS the value of IRC climbs the risk of POG being hurt by that guarantee diminishes. That materially de-risks POG. IRC now has a market cap of HK$2.185bn, which is about £225m. SO POG's 35.8% is worth about £80m. | galeforce1
25/11/2016 21:18 | IRC climbing each day. wonder when this retroacts on POG. do we need more publicity/blogging? | seppsuess
25/11/2016 13:28 | Most of the recent gold movement due to the imminent FED interest rate hike or fear of it. Similar to what we had with the Tapering scenario. Once it happens, gold may well move up afterwards and many of those cautious Poggers who've trimmed their holdings are likely to buy back in very sharply. The last spike down in share price enabled an institutional short to close or reduce their position. They clearly didn't think gold was going a lot lower or they would have waited. Also VV took advantage of weakness to increase his position. | cliffo2
25/11/2016 13:09 | James google the correlation between gold and copper prices over the last 30 years and you will see there is a strong link. Apart from the last 6 weeks that is | wallywoo

25/11/2016 12:19 | To me it is also bizarre that the iron ore price, copper price and many other metals has surged since Trump, but the gold price has slumped. Looks very manipulated to me | wallywoo
25/11/2016 12:07 | IRC weighs on us either way! Agree, just silly | tsmith2
25/11/2016 11:46 | Some very bizarre inverse relationship going on with IRC here. IRC surging ahead, POG tanking like it's going out of business. A massive disconnect. | m_n_tomlinson |
