WSJ is reporting that Russia is pumping almost as much oil into the global market as it did before the invasion! Yet we are still in the doldrums, weeks ahead could be interesting 🤔 GLA

Yes - the gap is closing almost as quickly it opened in February. The only thing I can see is that Turkey have doubled their imports. Don't know if that's enough to have such a dramatic effect. Good news for PTR - whatever the reason is :)

any one here noticed that the Ural-Brent price difference was dramatically changed from $33@16/08 to $24 today in a week?
Any comments on it?
TIA

I don't equate Petroneft and good news as going together.

They said they are trying to maximise the amount exported in the 16 June updates

I doubt PTR will go bust as their oil is sold solely on and for the Russian domestic market and therefore does not need to rely on the whims of the export market.

Grim, the Nomad is used to long periods of not being updated by previous management, I expect they can handle this short delay in news flow as current management are more on the ball. I’m sure there are safer and better opportunities to make a return on other assets for new investors other than a risky Russian Oiler. For me I’m happy sitting long & let it play out. GLA 😀

This company must be very close to falling out with their Nomad, it is all very well keeping quiet due to the war in Ukraine but investors need to know how restrictions, sanctions, ability to sell oil, local or export, for what price, how operations have been effected due to potential inability to source equipment and so on.

According to the some historic posts Petroneft were about to embark on a drive to increase production via workovers and new wells, it is very poor form to not update, this usually means trouble ahead for shareholders.

One could argue that all the above is in the price but suspension pending clarification is a real possibility.

Observer,
i think it's very smart to keep the low profile at these days.
but it seems some buyers get back last few days.
they must find some things solid to support PTR, at least at the operational level.

Not a whisper out of Petroneft since 17th January, they sure are keeping their heads under the radar.

Anyway, it's risky here now but I'll continue to hold. Big risk, huge reward. I think it's worth the gamble.

Well it would seem that moths do really get burnt. What more
do you need to see to sell up every cent you have here and
invest in something worthwhile.

All right Kev, still mouthing off?

Gentlemen

I have followed Petroneft over the years, it has served me well but we are in extraordinary times and should point out there is significant risk buying or holding Russian stocks currently - I am sure we have sophisticated investors here who are aware.

Over the last week HSBC has stopped trading in both POG and POLY on their platform and I wonder whether this is the start of a purge by brokers, will they move to smaller below radar Russian companies in due course, if so it could be difficult to exit so please be aware and review your positions.

No advice intended.
