I think share price will go up from here I really don’t think Putin will invade Ukraine this will calm down eventually and when it does Russia will have got what it wants nobody wants war by spring this year it will be settled I think

looks like no sellers left at this level, its not going to take much to see this past 4p. When you consider that the oil produced from PTR is sold to the domestic market and Asia and has a field with huge potential sat next to large producing companies this is way undervalued.

Cannot see anything being done here other than operational updates hopefully confirming the story of rising production (to use the increased reserves up)!. Any asset sale I do not see happening for a good while and hopefully the current Russia hysteria will have calmed down by then.

Good News: Director buying and having a good effect on the Share Price.

Bad News: Cant be any Corporate Activity they are not allowed to buy within 6 weeks of such, of course, if they haven't been told or the normal production updates are due without them having knowledge then it's ok. :)

One to keep an eye on, can never rule out a bid approach - Petroneft licences are surrounded by majors
- remember the board have a 'for sale' sign over the company - current oil prices makes this outfit attractive.

Buyers were returning on Friday - a bid would be multiples of the current £35m market value.


2P NPV 10 has increased significantly from $255.716M in 2011/16 to $522.21M as of 30th June 2021

The nuts and bolts of the situation is the share price has fallen too far for no obvious operational reason, even accounting for the Russian/Ukraine tensions PTR will remain unaffected as they sell their oil locally.

This is a great buying opportunity, assuming you can get any shares.

It's moving fast, looks like background buyers, it's fallen from 4.7p reached 1st week January.

This was promoted by Zak Mir in the past and now has a bit of a following.

Looks a decent entry point from a technical perspective, the RSI is only 41, it hit 97 last year !

Looks like it is going back up from a technically oversold position.

There is money to be made buying PTR at current levels, the shares are 2p off the recent January 6th high, as others have mentioned PTR sells all of it's oil on the Russian market.

Buy the lows and profit, the stock moves quickly on thin volume.

Russia/Ukraine - what is known and what is likely to happen.

Known - Russian parliament to vote on recognising separatist held areas of Donbass as Independent states.

Likely to happen:

1. Russian parliament votes in favour of recognising separatist held areas of Donbass as Independent.

2. Separatist areas of Donbass hold referendum to become part of Russia.

3. Referendum votes heavily in favour of joining Russia.

4. Separatist area of Donbass integrates with rest of Russia.


Russia gain a very small amount of territory and circa 1.5mln increase in population with no extra or just negligible extra sanctions. Will have no effect on Nord Stream 2 pipeline.



May Happen:

Separatist forces, strongly backed by Russia take rest of Donbass they do not hold.

Then as above 1 to 5.

Extra sanctions will be imposed, however most probably will not effect Nord Stream 2 pipeline



Unlikely:

Separatist forces, strongly backed by Russia take all coastal regions up to Crimea.

This will mean Russia pushing Ukraine completely out of the Sea of Azov.

Unlikely to happen as will most probably effect Nord Stream 2 pipeline coming on-stream.

Have bought back in, any sign of tensions in the Crimea de-escalating and PTR shares will rally strongly.

The shares are at their lowest point since last April but operationally and financially the company has never been in a better shape.

Taken some today, PTR served me well when I bought in February last year, trebled my money.

Drop is entirely due to political concerns and not operational matters, shares could recover quickly if tensions ease.

Oil prices are hugely beneficial to Petroneft.
