citytrader - This could happen in the afternoon after the DOW opens because the correction is not going to carry on forever in a non-stop mode. We are in a healthy economy with corrections occurring from time time in the markets. Basically the market trend will be in "an ascending yoyo mode" for a while until economic fundamentals start to falter - in 2/3 years.

Clearly the correction is not over yet in the US, maybe another 5% downside approx

1000pt drop on the Dow is somewhat worrying I will just watch tomorrow, Fridays rarely a buying day, even if we hit 400p here.

Will sit on the sidelines to see what levels the correction ends at.

Certainly a major contract win would help

Scooper: Re:trading up and down:

I was doing nicely trading the daily up and down 4 or 5 points zig -zags ( I call them ) and getting out each day with a modest profit.

Then the daily up and down movements started getting less frequent and less profitable with less volume as more and more people were holding for the big 600 plus. ( my perception of the situation).

So I started holding and waiting two or three days for the next decent rise to get out but I got caught out by the drop.

I am holding and buying it in small amounts every 15 to 25 points drop, until I can see the bottom.

BTW the Wood Group made their bid for AMFW just prior to the latter publishing their then latest results. I note that PFC are publishing their full year results in 3 weeks time ;-)

WJ,

Being a cynic, you could say that a low ball offer might be considered better than no offer at all? However, I do not believe that's the case. What I do believe is the lower the share price goes, the more likely a hostile bid (i.e. not manipulated). An SFO investigation didn't stop WG taking over AMFW - both also under investigation and it wouldn't stop a takeover of PFC by, say, Schlumberger, Halliburton or the unnamed middle Eastern suitor previously mentioned.

wolf

you were talking about the SFO rns being put out to manipulate a low ball offer

how exactly does that fit in with the CEO holding 17.5% of the Company ?

WJ.

I don't think is going bust but come on... Why so much of a drop.. It's like more really bad news are coming. BTW I am heavily invested into this. So I will have a smiley face when this going above 450. I have been burnt before on companies with such a sudden drop..
