Ott but it was gratifying to see the scum er sorry the shorters lost £89m or thereabouts on Ocado recently.Hopefully they're losing heavily here and on PMO too. And more importantly will continue to lose heavily.

Yes, shorts coming down mirroring the same pattern over at PMO. It seems short positions becoming concerned about a strong POO

I don't know what DB are playing up at. They only got over 5% only 4 days ago !!

The good news is that the Shorts are getting the message. The big buy went through the other day.
Well they can go and buy at the going rate causing the S/P to rise.I don't mind.LOL.

AQR reduced again, now at below 3% the are at 2.95 % now.
Total Shorts on PFC now at 7.38%.

AAZ a small Gold,Silver and Copper producer. With very low debit and very good Management. It has done very well for me. Still plenty of meat left on the bone.
As always DYOR and NAI.

PFC has won 5 North Sea Contracts from Chevron.

Chelsea , never buy shares if you cannot afford to lose the lot. It is tempting to over-invest when you get a successful run , but you have to view the market as a sophisticated gamble.

Yes Chelsea81.
Good for you in buying AZN and for the dividend.Spread the money around.

I am sorry for the long term holders in PFC. Yes, but what surprises me is that many don't use their Stop Loss facility. It is there to be used as a trailing stop loss. Some invest in the old fashion way. This Market has changed now.
So a trailing Stop Loss is a must.It is free of charge service these days.
Me? I don't use it because I am there watching all the time.LOL.
I think EVRAZ will beat KAZ to the finish line anyway.Well I pointed out EVRAZ because it produces Vanadium. Vanadium is used in liquid batteries and is much in demand these days.
What surprises me is that not much debate takes place here on this PFC thread. Sometimes it feels like I am the only one invested here !!
Anyway I have put my views forward regarding PFC. Am I a ramper of this share??
Er, yes it is the largest holding in my portfolio. I try and back it up with valid news as well, if I can.
We all play the Market to make money. So I try and put out my views forward.

I am not here to sway any ones views. As always DYOR and from me NAI.

Callmebwana: I have put in a few grand in AstraZeneca (AZN) a couple of days ago, mainly because a juicy dividend is due by mid February, plus annual results are due by 2nd February which might result in an increase in the share price. I still have a few grand in cash waiting to invest, I will do some research on the shares you highlighted.

PFC is looking good, and hopefully, this sudden consistent upward trend will continue for the sake of the longterm holders who bought at circa 800p.

LOL, Big buy gone through this afternoon as well !!
Shorts closing? Well they should !! :o)

Read a link posted by R-du-R on LSE BB At 15.51. Very interesting to say the least.
The Refinery in Ecuador looks like coming true. $8 Billion of Contracts to be awarded.
PFC is there from the UK. Nice RNS will land in mid February re the Contract win by PFC.

This also agrees with my Chart Info for making the Golden Cross in a short time frame.

D.B.Bank are not stupid to go over 5% holding. Nor are Black Rock crowd.
So make what you will of all this. DYOR. NAI.
GLA. I am very happy holding PFC shares.

O/T.
Chelsea81.Good morning.
You wanted to do some DYOR on FTSE Co's. I have two for you to look at. Both are Mining Co's. They are both lining up to enter the FTSE 100. There is always a reshuffle.I don't know which Month the reshuffle takes place.
When a Co joins the FTSE 100 The Pension Funds are obliged to buy into the shares.
The last one I looked at was NMC Health. It has gone up quite a bit since it joined the FTSE 100.
The two possible contenders are EVRAZ (EVA) and KAZ MINERALS (KAZ).
I am not qualified to advise anyone so please you must do your own DYOR etc. NAI.
Apologies in advance re O/T.
Have a nice weekend all.

For anyone interested in TA.
We have had a sharp rise in the S/P of PFC lately. RSI was a bit over heated.

I had a good look today at the long term Chart of PFC.
The S/P at the moment is trading over the 200 Day SMA and 50 Day SMA.
I think in February the Golden Cross will form. A very good sign in TA.
(Golden Cross is formed when the 50 Day SMA crosses the 200 Day SMA going upwards).
I am expecting a very good move upwards in February in PFC..... S/P.
I am not at all bothered with the daily gyrations of PFC.... S/P.
Oil price going up and down has that effect. AIMHO. NAI.

regarding point 4

ignore the term "net debt" when looking at stocks, it means nothing and is very misleading and it does not show the full picture

Need to look at "Current Assets minus Current Liabilities minus Non-Current Liabilities"

and compare that to annual profits. If it would take the company more than 2 or 3 years to clear those liabilities, stay well clear.

you can work this out from the balance sheet in the interim and annual/final reports

following my advice is not easy, most people can't do it, it's much easier for them to follow the latest hot tip in the newspaper or in shares magazine
