I have good news for you! All your troubles are over!
I can do you a special price on a nice pre:loved one owner cardboard box.
It has a bit of an odour about it but you won't notice after you settle in.

I'm only using money here than I can afford to lose. I hope we have a spike up and the shorters get burned. About that cardboard box....

Exactly what the shorters want you to do. Not sure today's RNS adds much more to what's already out there except causes a little more panic selling. I like the timing, although surprised it didn't come out the day before the TU.But yes the shorters are loving this and until they are finished then upside will not be realised in the short term.

11 percent -

Only if everyone sells. I'm holding. Courage, mes amis. Call their bluff and buy more rather than sell. I'm topping up if it goes much lower though I already have my usual max.

not a good announcement but good results and a good divi would do the trick
we know they are already involved in many potential contract bids
it would only take one more, at any time in the next few months, for this to shoot
the sfo is a blind - already factored into the share price

No one here knows where the share price is going !! All guessing !!
The News today is bad but it has nothing to do with PFC. I looks to me like a programe by the Shorters. I am stead fast and holding until the Results day.
Everyone to their own. Talk to me in 12/18 Months time. DYOR etc.
I will top up if it falls much further. ATB and GLA.

you have to have patience and a longer time frame unless you have a get rich quick agenda. that rarely happens and when it does it us usually luck.

This is heading below 400.The slight chance of a good announcement is wishful thinking. The trend is suggesting one thing only. SELL SELL Imho of course. Will.be selling my lot tomorrow morning.

adejuk,

I agree re:chart trend indicates sub 400 and I would not be surprised if it came as soon as tomorrow.

However,I see the bottom as 350 and then straight back up again in a sort of mirror image of the big drop down from 800 or so.

I am holding and topping up on the way down here and there.

Others here feel that there will be good news and a price rise next week which is fine with me.

I have some nice warm cardboard boxes,a duvet and a place reserved under the arches if it all goes pear shaped. :-)

adejuk - it's just the divi announcement on Wednesday, not the ex-dividend date.

holding only 10k now and that feels on the edge of too much risk.
nonetheless i will let it run.

And then there's always the chance of a wildcard thrown in by Petrofac to try to help out the shareholders and hurt the shorts. For example, if they were to announce something like a sales process for their IES assets (the ones where they take more upstream risk) with proceeds to be ringfenced for shareholder returns - on the assumption that these assets are not linked to the SFO investigation.

i used to be an avid chartist and lost faith in them after about ten years of slavery.
let the trend be your friend is a good guide
the trend here is to sub 400

the share price will drop by at least as much as the divi.
interesting that this may be the first day we have seen a big drop NOT followed by the late rise.

There's always a risk of a big move on an earnings report, and this earnings season there seem to have been quite a few in both directions - but more noticeably perhaps on the downside where companies have missed expectations on results or guidance.

Petrofac must be at risk of bigger moves than most I would have thought given the situation it finds itself in. Who knows what expectations are built in on dividends, earnings or outlook/backlog, but the big holders (and shorters) will have expectations and some will move quickly once the detail is known I think.

Apart from actuals, dividend announcement and backlog, I think it is going to be particularly important what they say about current trading. Are they going to acknowledge any issues on winning new business due to the SFO investigation or the (linked) sidelining of their COO, or are they going to come out and say explicitly that they don't see any impact in the marketplace from these issues? Or will they just be silent on the matter? Will they give any update on how the SFO investigation appears to be going in terms of whether the SFO has changed its mind on Petrofac's level of cooperation or on other aspects?

One last question sorryIf the dividend is confirmed around the same price as last year will the share price increase considerably

Why would the dividend be cut after recent contracts? Any thoughts

Only thing I can think of is a decline in the backlog or cutting the divi by a large amount.
Hopefully the recent contract wins should address the order book

Can anyone tell me what exactly could be the risk in next weeks update? They got 2 billion contract and another 100 million contract. I dont seem to understand what else could take this price further down other then the SFO report.

So much for a melt-up ahead of results as shorts closed. Anyway, only 2 trading days to go after today. Not long to wait for those prepared to risk it.

D1inga,

I do have faith in the chart but not complete faith and I will look forward to being pleasantly surprised by the upside next week as expected by yourself.
I really just wanted to say what the chart, right or wrong, indicates to me.
Thank you for listening. o:-)
