"Apparently" does not mean the same as "possibly"; the opposite in fact.

Hence the word....`apparently`. If the (see the word `if`) divi is unchanged as per previous few years, then that is the yield with todays share price

Disclosed shorts.

Capeview decreased their short on 16th (Wednesday) from 0.76% to 0.68%.

So the disclosures so far for moves this week have been:

Monday - Old Mutual up 0.10%
Tuesday - AKO down 0.14%, AQR up 0.12%
Wednesday - Capeview down 0.08%

So two-way trade going on with the disclosed shorts, 2 increasing and 2 decreasing and as it happens exactly cancelling out for the 3 days . And for the longs, Deutsche Bank's most recent move (Tuesday) was to increase its long position.

With the share price down here I would have thought it might be tempting for those shorts in profit to take some of it before the results & dividend announcement on 30th. The same for the longs I suppose, but I suspect there aren't many longs in profit at the moment.

nicebut - you seem to have missed the fact that it has not been confirmed yet unless there has been some announcement today of which I am unaware.

I don't understand when you day shorters will have to pay the divi. It doesn't matter as the share price drops by that amount so it's cash neutral!

NY Boy, what to do you think their scope is to pay a special divi or at least raise the interim amount?

Garycook.LOL!
Wrong, I am the Alpha male here in this household. Machine working fine now.
Thunder storm saved me from hedge trimming. I am off for my three Months travelling. Just finishing the Do List slowley. She reminds me often.

PFC will do it's thing. I am not rushing to top up either. You never know what the Shorters have in mind ! Shortes are showing @ 8.75%. So have in fact gone up!!
Next week should be very interesting. Only 7 Trading days left before the Results.

Nicebut, I don't think there is anymore bad news to come. Well I hope there isn't.
I think all is factored in the share price now. Shorters will have to show their hand some time or pay the Divi.AIMHO.

LOL. Madam, you have a very good sense of humor as well.
SFO and the Shorters are the reason for the low price,me thinks.
All will slowley become clear.I don't think the Divi will be changed, if the BOD change it, it would amount to admitting guilt.
I don't think a takeover is someting to fear as the SFO are involved at the moment.
More like PFC making a bid for Wood Group if anything regarding consolidation is to take place in this sector.
Well I have been told that I have to repair the Washing Machine, cut the hedges and do some man chores !!! :o/
Wishing you luck with whatever you decide to do,and a good day.

NMTLA = not much to laugh about; just made it up!

Can't go against the will and the kids want cash rather than shares so it's a question of deciding which must be sold in immediate future and which I should keep myself. Inclined to keep PFC and add to my own recent purchases and maybe break even but mystified as to why they are still so low. Maybe someone trying to engineer a t/o at a low price? An announcement of maintained div. would clear the air, methinks, and hopefully put a rocket under the share price Not long to wait now. Fingers crossed.

callmebwana -

Call me Madam, please. (Double e at the end of a French word signifies female!) Believe it or not, there are some ladies who are obliged to spend their time following shares when they'd rather be doing other things. I'm trying to win back the loss on PFC in my late husband's p/f before I have to cash it in to pay out the kids' legacy, or I might keep it myself and sell something else, though all are down at the moment. NMTLA (work that one out!)

And a nice day to you as well!

John09. I did answer that last night. No one knows for sure. It is expected to be 16/17P per share. That is if the BOD deside not to change anything on the 30th.
Resuls day at 3 AM.

NY, one storm in the gulf isn't going to help their order book. We need sustained higher prices for better bidding activity

Don't be put off by my negative attidue though, I'm long and strong!
Just would like to see the order book trending back to the $20 billion it was at a year or so ago

So Deutsche Bank were buying on Tuesday 15th, the same day that there was a small net decrease in disclosed shorts (subject to late disclosures).

And yet the share price fell 20p on the day.

Good to see that DB were buying again, anyway.
