The gamblers thread is still posting stuff like :-

"Iraq in talks with Italy's ENI to build $4 billion refinery

ENI currently operates the Zubair oil field with a 41.56% stake, alongside partners South Korea's Kogas with 23.75%, state-owned Basra Oil Co. with 29.69% and another state partner with 5%,"

And thinking it has some relevance to PET.

IT HAS

It shows that they already have State Backed partners that can run oil fields and will have the finance in place to build $4bn oil refineries.

What makes anyone think that a minnow,
with no money,
no projects
and only experience of losing money on failed pipe dream intangibles ,
has a chance of competing ? !! ?

Iraq Relaxes Coronavirus Restrictions

9th September 2020 in Healthcare
By John Lee.

Iraq's Higher Committee for Health and National Safety held a meeting on Tuesday under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi.

At the start of the meeting, the Prime Minister paid tribute to Iraq's medical and nursing professionals for being on the frontline during the Covid-19 pandemic.

In his briefing to the Committee, the Minister of Heath said that Iraq has increased its Covid-19 testing capabilities.

According to a statement from the Government of Iraq, the Director of the World Health Organization's Office in Iraq, Dr. Adham Rashad Ismail, praised the Iraqi government's efforts in response to the pandemic, and the measures taken by the Ministry of Health which contributed to a death-rate from of 2.9% which is lower than the global rate.

Following discussions, the Committee decided to:

Permit youth, sports activities and events in various fields (without the presence of spectators) while adhering to preventive health measures from 12/09/2020

Allow restaurants, event halls and tourist facilities at five-star hotels to reopen, provided that health preventive measures are put in place as directed by the
Ministry of Health

Allow all land border crossings to reopen to facilitate trade exchange only

Allow ministries and official public institutions to work at 50% capacity

Permit the Independent High Electoral Commission to open registration centres to allow voters to register for the biometric voting cards

Iraq resumes international flights after 4 months
Baghdad International Airport opened gates for passengers under strict health guidelines, the first time since March

23.07.2020

BAGHDAD

Iraq on Thursday resumed international flights after four months of travel suspension due to COVID-19 or coronavirus pandemic related restriction.

Like many other countries, Iraq decided to suspend flights due to the outbreak of the coronavirus in March. The travel restrictions were extended several times, since then.

Last week, the Higher Committee for Health and National Safety in Iraq decided to reopen the airports in the country.

Iraq has five international airports: Baghdad, Najaf, Basra, Erbil, and Sulaymaniyah.

Baghdad International Airport opened its gates on Thursday morning to passengers, for the first time since March.

Iraqi Civil Aviation Authority has published strict health instructions at the entrance of Baghdad International Airport, relating to the health safety of workers and travelers.

The airport administration has made wearing masks, hand gloves mandatory for all workers and passengers. It has also taken steps to ensure that workers and passengers maintain social distancing according to the recommendations of the World Health Organization.
