My views is where there is big stones lots will follow. It's a very good sign wherever they are mining that these stones are coming in regularlyWhat if the production in terms oz unexpected exceeds has the share price reflected on this ? I don't think the projected production had taken into account to those big stones found so far and this is very exciting times with share price at current levels

All they need to do is recover 1 decent stone each month and the debt profile will reduce very quickly. So far, now this new C-cut phase 1 has started, they're doing it.

I can see this certainly being the change of direction for the share price... certainly for the next few months after last results only better news to come and the odd vig find thrown in the mix. I don't know to much about mining but I'd assume usually there will be som kind of collective amount of these kind of gem stones together in rock formations? So more to come? I have 17k of these I'm selling at 100p so I can buy the Mrs an engagement ring with.. the 20k I bought yesterday I'm holding half till they double I'm and half indefinitely.

Petra Diamonds has been in the wars of late with lower revenue numbers and a share price that has halved since Jan 2019. Recent success with some gigantic sized diamond discoveries seem to have been batted away with the usual market nonchalance. I suspect a few are NET ‘short’ and are in no mood to change direction yet. A few more large discoveries and that mindset will need to change. At 18.5p, PDL are looking very cheap. Debt is a concern but recent falls look overdone.

Another value stock that I think might be worth your research time is Petra Diamonds (LSE: PDL).

Petra is very similar to Evraz, in my opinion, because this company is also struggling with a high debt load and volatile earnings. But once again, I think the majority of this risk is already reflected in the stock’s valuation. It is dealing at a forward P/E of just 3.7 at the time of writing and EV/EBITDA ratio of 4.2.

That being said, I believe the business does deserve to trade at a discount to the rest of its sector because earnings are falling. Today, the company announced a 7% increase in fiscal third-quarter revenue due to a 6% fall in sales volumes. Net debt did fall marginally during the stated period (down 1% quarter-on-quarter), but this still leaves the business with a net gearing ratio of 120%.

These figures are not that impressive, but as I mentioned above, I think Petra’s current share price already reflects most of the pessimism surrounding a business and even a small uptick in expectations might lead to a significant re-rating of the stock. With this being the case, it might be an attractive investment for risk-tolerant value investors.
