12/6/2019 21:51 | Look on the ice exchange you can see forwardWhich ever way you look at it PMG is the wrong price, | busterposh2
12/6/2019 21:41 | Buster That does not look to me to be the price received by the E&P co. It looks to be the wholesale spot price paid by gas distribution companies. What price is typically achieved for sales by E&P companies under long term contracts? Or more to the point, what is the long term expectation for the above? | tournesol

12/6/2019 21:18 | buster where do you get the 50p/therm from please? T | tournesol
12/6/2019 21:17 | My point being PMG has an EV of £28m (ex cash) and is sitting on a potential share of a field 4.8x £135m that's so is incredibly good value, plus £30m cash and an annualised profit of c£4mGPA is potentially a lot bigger | busterposh2
12/6/2019 21:11 | Hi SkyI think my post was correct as belowPlatypus 180bln cubic feet of gas PMG have 15% interest, based on 50p per Therm that?s £900,000,000 of gas in total 15% interest £135,000,000 market cap ex cash c£30mYou may have not counted the zeros...http://www.k | busterposh2
12/6/2019 13:12 | buster - you post with a seeming knowledge whereof you speak; but you speak in riddles, actually quite likely you are speaking falsehoods!!! Now, I may be wrong; and if so I apologise...BUT: There are 100cu ft of gas to 1 Therm So there are a potential 1.8bn Therms x 50p = £900m That is not the same as £900,000!!!!!! The difference of 1000x suggest you were perhaps confusing BTUs and Therms? Can you elucidate please. | skyship
12/6/2019 10:57 | Selling gas is very different from selling oil. Gas is generally sold on long term contracts at prices which are agreed at the outset and which are not linked to the spot price of oil. What price you can negotiate depends very much on the local circumstances - how much of local demand is already satisfied by long term supply contracts? how much additional capacity is currently available but which is currently going unused because availability > demand. I am not au fait with the market for N Sea gas but there are many places in the world where gas has little or no value because demand is already being satisfied. I'd be careful about valuing gas in the ground ahead of a sales contract being agreed. | tournesol

11/6/2019 22:23 | Buster what is the average price at which gas is sold? | tournesol
11/6/2019 21:01 | That's gross value they typically are discounted back over the expected life of the asset and the cost of capital, but the life of these assets runs and runs, fore example fields that were expected to have a 10yr life are running some 40yrs later, so is a moving target. All I believe is that cash doesn't lie, PMG looks set to annualised c £4m plus profits on the basis of the last update strip out cash and the current business looks good value. You get platypus and GPA in the mix and the ic article "stating this could double" will be a slight understatement. | busterposh2
