And your qualification to make that deduction is what, ohdear - apart from desperately seeking further falls to a plainly barmy 10p?

Alkaid will only be commercial if they can demonstrate that the excess gas can be disposed of at reasonable cost

....nonsense.
They will not produce from A2, future wells will be drilled and fracked so that any gas cap will be avoided. The whole of the lateral at A2 was in an oil column, not a gas column.

Don't you think a market cap of £150M is pie in the sky BR? What justifies it?

Forwood, what's your view on the directors sales?

Here they are doing the rounds in August 2022, grinning like Cheshire cats:

2-Aug-22 - share price of 115p

19-Aug-22 - share price of 129p

The price hit a closing high of 140p on 23-Aug-22, before slowly reversing to 115p the day prior to the sale announcement. (I believe people on here at the time were attributing this to the evil deeds of the "shorters").

On 20-Sep-22 they announced they had exercised options and sold 4.2m shares at average price of 123.4p, but the share price hadn't closed above that level since 6-Sep-22.

So in order to achieve that average on that many shares, at what point would they have had to start selling?

I can only conclude that it must have been within a few days or immediately after they finished giving that round of interviews. (There were 8 trading days between the price hitting 140p and dropping below their average share price and just 11 trading days from the second interview).

If that is not an example of a pump and dump, then what is?

As for subsequent webinars, Darcon's questions put forward included numerous Qs relating to the directors sales, yet I understand none of these were referenced in any webinar.

Maybe some of you are ok with this?

swanny, from the above you'd deduce I think it's unlikely there'll be a farm in until after publication of the IER and SLB reports. The fact that the company didn't raise more suggests a degree of confidence by the board that a farm in will arrive in due course, and provide the resources to fund next winter's programme. We also have the SMD test. I have no idea if this is the plan but the Alkaid production facility is there to process good flow and provide income. Much has been said about how the industry is not going to focus on the gas caps and the like - they will look at the evidence provided in the data room and validated by SLB & Netherland Sewell.

Anybody who puts a probability of commercial success at greater than 95% has lost all sense of logic/reality and is operating entirely at an emotional/desperate level in view of the losses incurred (and spare me the "you haven't lost until you have sold" mantra of the desperate).

Either that or they have lost their marbles.

Thanks bwana. He seems like another investor but this time long as opposed to short that has no idea of the assets. He does not even mention theta west the largest play! 22.5p is laughable. This is going much much higher on the expected news flow in my view

bdr, in a world where people believe in all sorts of nonsense and fanciful stories, I make a judgement about who is telling story. Trump, for instance, I wouldn't trust further than I can spit. I believe the board here, mistakes apart, have integrity. Re the Pantheon 'story' I have no doubt we have the assets they've described. Whereas the likes of SLB and Netherleand Sewell may be more sceptical in their analysos of oil in place and recoverable, I expect they will broadly support the figures produced to date.

The fact that the share price has fallen is disappointing to anyone who has bought long. Such losses hurt. That's normal but doesn't turn those affected into emotional cripples, particularly if they are seasoned traders / investors.

In my view, the share price suffered due to profit taking after a short term high (150p), followed by director option sales. That then allowed a baseless and frankly scurrilous 'story' about fraud and unreliability to gain credence, coupled with active shorting, and given impetus by the disappointing Alkaid drill results.

I've been in this game long enough to know how volatile prices can be. A successful SMD test and this will quickly head back up. Confirmation of resources by the IER and SLB reports, likely followed by a farm out, and we could see the share price back over a £1.

It amauses me somewhat when people try to describe my mental and emotional health. Fair enough I suppose, as I've commented frequently on others. Let's just say, successful trading requires emotion to be kept in check and as a 71 year old, I've had a lifetime of dealing with my own.

michaelsadvfn, the directors sold multiple millions of pounds of shares at 125p before Alkaid 2 flow test...

How many did they just buy?

It doesn’t matter how many they bought, they would not go down the highly dilutive route after all subscribing for shares.

Do try harder.

Bit of a drop but from here still a good target even if it is "speculative."
Would give them a pretty hefty marketcap though, c. 900M shares now so around £150M at this 17p level don't want to do the maths for 155p think it would look pie in the sky.
Having the placing price hold would probs be a good result for today.

Thank you for this link, a couple of interesting paragraphs on Share Price, and Investment Institutions:"Broker's Views – Ranging 92p To 155p For 'Fair Value'Before this raise analyst Brendan Long at WH Ireland had put a 92p 'fair value' estimate on the group's shares. After the fund-raising, Charlie Sharp, analyst at Canaccord Genuity Capital Markets, rates the group's shares as a Buy, with a price objective of 155p a share, which is its 'risked' value. The 'unrisked' valuation is computed by Canaccord Genuity at 387p per share. He is now awaiting the external reports to come in over the next few months, which he considers could well be significant share price catalysts.""The larger holders include:Chons LLC (4.83%), Charles Schwab Investment Management (3.53%), Investec Wealth & Investment (3.33%), IPGL Ltd (3.29%), Sanjay Motwani (2.93%), Jarvis Investment Management (1.74%), Jupiter Asset Management (1.36%), Barclays Bank Private Banking (1.30%), Hargreaves Lansdown Asset Management (1.18%) and BlackRock Fund Advisors (1.10%)."

Interested in investors thoughts on timing of a farm in now. Would you accept a worse deal for this to be done prior to the SMD testing, or roll the dice and hope SMD comes good in order to achieve a better deal? IMO its game over if the SMD fails to flow in the absence of a farm in deal.
