A reminder that Jerooy and the shooting of a former employee is relating to previous operations in Kyrgyzstan and has nothing to do with the Uzbek claim....

"Whilst Venezuela can on the face of it seem civilised"

Civilised? Really? The capital of Venezuela is acknowledged as the kidnap capital of the world.

The market does not believe in those numbers at all.... the collective minds on a relatively small cap... against 2 billion dollars potential.. if there was a hint in those numbers being remotely achievable those who really odds of success , would bid up the market cap to more reasonable values given, as we are so close to end of game.... that simply isn't happening.Strange that.

I Don't argue the point ross, but the OXUS guy getting shot in 2006 over jerooy and then the imprisonment of Said takes some beating. Talking of beating, the Uzbek police had a whale of a time battering OXUS employees and much more.

Whilst Venezuela can on the face of it seem civilised, I wouldn't argue with an Uzbekistan that had a pot "on the stove" and possibly me as the main course.

"pap - what are you trying to say/prove?
His calcs are right on a ten year time frame! simple!"

I'm NOT trying to prove anything, dave. Just highlighting a simple mathematical formula which posters can use for varying terms and varying interest rates. Nothing more than that. Simple! Just calm down, dave! You are reading more into my post.

Compound Interest Formula.

People can speculate as much as they want, however I'm just waiting for the verdict. Anything over 15p per share would please me. Talk of 50p, £1, £1.50, £2 per share is just speculation as far as I'm concerned. Of course if any of these higher figures are achieved then I will be over the moon, but I'm not banking on them.

dave, 100% right, took 4% as the low end, but it depends what the tribunal put as the going rate, in the event of Oxus success.

I only posted the figures to highlight the fact that a winning award is further enhanced by enormous interest payments, because most posters don't seem to include what can be a significant, "add on".

I would further say, oxus to their credit, claimed compound interest right from the start, a very far sighted inclusion.

Your compound interest calcs are correct but that depends on what % is applied and from what date it is applied!

ross, just how blatant was the expropriation of these "others" that were worse than oxus?, and who were they?.

Bear in mind the full circumstances of the OXUS theft.

compound interest on $1bn at 4% over 5years=$216,652,902.

compound interest on $1bn at 4% over 10years=$480,244,284.

Not a pretty sight if its coming out of Uzbek account.

A beautiful sight if hitting the OXUS account.

R.S. is playing a blinder as far as I am concerned, got balls of steel.

kcowe, get a grip, I am not the fantasist, I read the oxus story and my take is as stated, you have a view which I believe you are entitled to, surely you give me the same license? this is a discussion board to, believe it or not, discuss oxus. You may disagree with certain views but to denigrate a poster whose opinion you disagree with is ignorant.

If the uzbeks had settled earlier the compound interest charges would have been minute, as it is, those charges will come to some, if oxus win. But first you need to understand, compound interest and how it becomes horrendous.

You're not upsetting me, ka1. Why should you? I'm just waiting for the verdict. Feel free to indulge in wishful thinking.

would be nice but i am just hoping for a 30-100% uplift on the $550-1250m range.

some of that is just the simply maths of 'undiscounting' the discounting in the DCF and some of it should reflect cash accreting to the Company as production expanded

The e&y figures take us to 2011 then add in the years to 2015, interest and incidentals and whilst I accept I am being conservative, £2.3bn will do for me, sorry if I upset anyone but free speech rules, even here.

It's just wishful thinking, wulber, on ka1's part. No one yet knows what the arbitrators will award OXS, assuming they win.

The OXS share price is just going sideways awaiting news. Hence the tight Bollinger Bands (and low volume). I suppose a bounce off the lower BB toward the upper BB is possible whilst we await news.
