19/2/2019 21:42 | Oh, don't worry about the coal, it's only the West that's turning its back on it, China and India are still building coal-fired power stations, and the premium, high calorific coal is running out... | zcaprd7
19/2/2019 15:13 | Zcaprd mate investing is risky, at the end of the day no matter what share you buy you are reliant on a great deal of trust, from the bod etc... In this case the trust required is even more extreme as our company then has to trust the boards its invested in..... There are clues & reasons why I personally believe our trust in this board & also 1 or 2 of our investments could pay off.... But.... For example celadon, its a coal miner, coal is fastly falling out of flavour but with a apex of around 3 years evenif the mine only ran for 10 out of the potential 120 years, the buyer would still make a handsome profit & there is also no denying, the more mines close, the more the price will rise, especially in certain districts. Its risky mate, its a punt, its slow & it might not pay off, but remember, we are valued below the current cash value & statements made by those in charge certainly give one hope that from this level we will, at the very very least be looking at 100% increase..... They only need to dispose of another $5m of investments & cash value becomes 0.5 100% up from today's share price Seems well reasonably attainable! | oxs
19/2/2019 12:56 | Well, yes, but how do we know if the new bod is going to the other extreme, so they can make a low ball offer for the remaining portfolio? | zcaprd7
19/2/2019 12:27 | Future financial statements should however reflect substantial cost reductions. | oxs
18/2/2019 22:32 | OK. 2 sides Positive Negative Whoever is right doesn't make them a well connected genius. The old board have nothing to do with this now. It's just a worn out opinion & it could be right or wrong! | oxs
18/2/2019 20:37 | Because I ignored him, like you are now. To be fair, I rather naïvely thought the previous bod wouldn't completely defraud the shareholders, thought it would be more like a 50% defraud.... | zcaprd7
13/2/2019 12:49 | Our administrator has taken control of all of the Company's bank accounts, which has, for the first time, given this board visibility into all Company expenses. This has enabled our administrator to spot, for example, recent travel expenses billed to the Company by a former promoter who had supposedly departed Origo's Advisor close to four years ago. We are grateful to our administrator for its diligence on the Company's behalf. We have now put in place systems to ensure that no Company money is paid to anyone without director approval and that all director payments are subject to the approval of another director. We are also reviewing historic expenses to the extent any may be recoverable. We have negotiated fees with all service providers and expect that our largest single provider expense, audit, will be reduced substantially for the year end 2018 audit. Our expense reductions are not fully visible in these financial statements because they still include payments for obligations incurred under the previous board. Future financial statements should however reflect substantial cost reductions. Not over yet chap no matter what your buddy russman says. | oxs
13/2/2019 12:29 | Personally I'd rather trust & take note of the new management who were put in by the shareholders than a random poster on a forum. "We expect however that our cash position plus disciplined expense management will enable us to obtain a fair value for our remaining assets without the necessity of a fire sale." It ain't over yet especially with cash at market value. | oxs
13/2/2019 12:04 | You telling me he's got insider contacts ? Well if that was the case & he's been saying this was going down the pan for a year, why have you not taken more notice ? Who knows mate. I still think there is a possibility of this surprising us, but time will tell. Either way I'm not selling. | oxs
13/2/2019 11:01 | He's better connected shall we say then... | zcaprd7
12/2/2019 09:59 | Respectfully His comment. It's over the ords will get nothing. Pretty sure that wasn't straight out of Harvard. | oxs
11/2/2019 15:12 | Erm, respectfully, I've been here for years, and he normally has access to quite "sophisticated" levels of analysis ... | zcaprd7
11/2/2019 10:03 | Zcaprd7 - it is not possible to "generally know his stuff" on here in this circumstance, it's just an opinion of 1 person. The cash is at market value for starters, it's paid out pro rata... From where I'm sat, Russman ain't got a scooby do wtf he on about because his opinion is based on what looks like, no facts. | oxs
11/2/2019 09:37 | Russman generally knows his stuff... | zcaprd7
09/2/2019 16:42 | Russman. Fancy giving an explanation ?? Just opinion by the looks of it | oxs
09/2/2019 16:27 | This game is finished. The ords will never get a return. | russman
08/2/2019 21:39 | Yes. I came in with fresh eyes & saw a possibility, in which could still prevail.. The big sells in the Prefs are strange.. as is Armstrong buying. To be fair. Given how many Prefs are held, it's not a huge amount & maybe isn't any indication on anything. The situation remains the same, it's a punt that could surprise us & technically we are valued at cash.... The note in the results referring to no firesale needed does give one some level of hope. But. Who knows???? I won't be selling & might in time even buy a few more, the lights are still on! | oxs
08/2/2019 17:06 | It's not looking great is it... You can see why I've all but given up on them? | zcaprd7
07/2/2019 23:59 | One wonders who is on the other side of the trade. | oxs
07/2/2019 23:49 | Naff all ?? Think it's about £3m now. Big trades over there today. Somewhat confused to be fair. Either positive or negative. Something seems to be going on. | oxs
07/2/2019 16:48 | Anyone know the market cap of the preference shares? | zcaprd7
30/1/2019 06:56 | "almost" :) Might pay off in 20 years time lol | oxs
29/1/2019 09:52 | Prefs down again, almost tempted by them | zcaprd7
27/1/2019 22:41 | Well done chap. | oxs
25/1/2019 17:06 | Found it, buried in the notes:All future distributions to ordinary and redeemable zero dividend preference shareholders are on the following basis (pro rata within the respective classes of shares): | zcaprd7 |
