29/12/2022 23:44 | A successful "tree shake" by the Market Makers, dropping the bid by 2p and widening the spread to 4p to 46p/50p and to attract selling, helping them to reduce their exposure following large buying after their positive results at the beginning of this month. A long term holder and far more interested in the long term operating performance of the underlying business than gyrations in the sale price. AIMHO, DYOR as I have done mine. regards | rainmaker
22/12/2022 13:26 | Thanks for that 97peter. IMO those steps to better investor relations communication will be very welcome. You only have to go back to the results - which appeared a decent set, but there was zero reaction to the share price I believe it was only off the back of the investor presentation some time later that we saw a bit of upward movement. I’m generally LTBH but put a bit into this as a bit of a speculative one and for a bit of diversification having got some of their bonds. Let’s see how it shakes out over next few months. | gbcol
22/12/2022 13:06 | gbcol and others stay the long game and patience! A few speculative sells at 51p and it will settle back above 50p in the New Year! One for all, after chatting with CEO - Ravi p, he has agreed to update the Invedtor relations web pages to, have the presentation on them, plus answer all Q&A’s, plus have a FAQ page. Aldo he has agreed to have all investor relations questions sent to his e mail so he can respond to any questions within 2 days. As well as posting a newsletter monthly on labs, updates and we’re new business is coming from. I have also asked him to put on there what the two major SaaS services we promote and sell, Lendxp and the Open banking Yrustloop. I also have to admit openly I work as a consultant for Orchards Cyber Security and also own just under 3% of Orchard. | 97peter
22/12/2022 11:42 | A lot of shares drift more than the dividend on ex date but should recover over the weeks and months especially when some of us add back with said dividend. | battlebus2
22/12/2022 11:32 | Trouble is the 4-5p drop in share price rather takes the gloss off of the 2p dividend! I suspected that I would regret not getting out when I briefly got back to break even after the results but I optimistically hoped it would push on nearer 60p after he presentation. Presumably there is unlikely to be any further news for some months now, so it’s difficult to see anything but further drift down in share price Are any of the more knowledgeable and longer term holders here able to give any reason for optimism? TIA. | gbcol
22/12/2022 09:00 | That’s Christmas 🎄 paid for. | battlebus2
22/12/2022 08:35 | Indeed, a super quick payment of the dividend from the XD date :-) | cwa1
22/12/2022 08:30 | X dividend today for 2p with that paid on the 6th of January I believe. | battlebus2
13/12/2022 21:06 | django44...they are different asset classes though. If something goes wrong then the bond holders will be placed above equity holders in the repayment queue and so the equity is riskier. I suspect bond holders will expect to be paid back in full before shareholders can have any money back in a liquidation scenario.....not that it should ever come to that. I would certainly agree though on balance the shares seem better value if you are receiving the same annual return with both but equity could appreciate in value and it is starting to do exactly that... | davidosh
13/12/2022 20:25 | In the Deep Value Shares newsletter (links above) Prof G.A. makes the argument that at 52p the shares are trading below the liquidation value of 77p. So it should be above 77p :) The other thing that below liquidation value the shares are better buy than the retail bond as both have very limited down side, about the same divis but shares got lot more upside. | django44
13/12/2022 18:07 | GBcol and Galles et al: I will speak with Ravi and see if we can get the presentation put somewhere on Investir relations part of Orchard website, plus have the Q&A put there as well with answers and start a Q&A/FAQ part to the Investor relations part? Along with asking for In ester relations to improve their response time and accuracy of response!! This is a turning point in shareholder communications and updates! Onwards and upwards to 65p a share, where it should be. Plus ex divi on 22 December of 2p. | 97peter
13/12/2022 17:58 | David and Peter, thanks again for organising and facilitating it. It was great to raise the profile of the business, which really is a very low risk profitable venture. The critical side of me would say that the presentation was rather dull and full of repetitions. Very wordy. There was no mention of attractive dividends until the Q&A which I thought Ravi did very well o. Overall, it was a perfect platform to promote Orchard. | galles
13/12/2022 17:19 | Thanks for making this presentation happen 97peter and davidosh. It does seem to have got some interest and with the results themselves, hopefully has helped reverse the share price decline of last 6 months. I couldn’t attend as out of country with limited IT so would be great if presentation can be put on Orch website (and/or here). | gbcol
13/12/2022 17:13 | Great Presentation! I think slightly biased that Ravi did a great job on presenting and giving an excellent insight into all the old and new aspects of Orchard Funding Group PLC.!! The SaaS is the elephant in the room, as well as the small risk Insuranceand lending markets they deal with. Before long it will be taken over as it gets too big or a threat. Or a bank or Insurer like HSBC, Barclays, Aviva or Hastings want the money, trade and SaaS!!! | 97peter
13/12/2022 09:05 | Confirmation of them presenting at Mello. | battlebus2
12/12/2022 10:38 | Nice to see the offer price budging this morning... | cwa1
11/12/2022 21:34 | I am amazed the share price has been pretty much fixed at this same level for the past month despite good results and a reasonable outlook to provide more of the same into this year. Hopefully the Mello appearance on Tuesday will help and nearly 200 have registered so it will be a good audience. | davidosh
07/12/2022 16:55 | An email went out at 15.23 to notify our database about the two shows next week so if you have attended one before then you should get an invite. I see the trading volume has increased already so do hope investors doing research ahead of the presentation. | davidosh
07/12/2022 15:56 | There are fund managers on the show and investment specialists so three hours in total but very popular and totally free so will be hundreds in the audience. I do not think very many will be aware of Orchard Funding so a day in the sunshine... | davidosh
07/12/2022 15:52 | Registered. Thank you David and Peter for making this happen | galles
07/12/2022 15:36 | No problem as I have spoken to Ravi and briefed him. He will be presenting on our Christmas show next Tuesday afternoon which already has 140 plus investors signed up to watch and I will provide 40 minutes so plenty of time for Q&A. Arix Bioscience are also presenting on the show | davidosh
07/12/2022 12:21 | Davidosh, did you reply to me in a private message? If not can you, as I can ease the flow and brief Ravi , when I chat with him tomorrow? He is very much up for a shareholder, Q&A and a market hall brief and forecast / explain and take Q’s type Mello session. He has not done one before, but is open to one, once overview and expectations are briefed to him!! Peter | 97peter
07/12/2022 00:49 | 97peter...thanks and also to another two shareholders. I have left messages for Ravi and my team sent him our Mello Monday information pack yesterday. I would like to get him to present next week so lets see how it goes as the results are clearly hot off the press right now. | davidosh
06/12/2022 20:59 | Davidosh, spoken with Ravi and he is very happy to do a Mello Monday, he just needs more detail and overview etc. can you reach out time via private message n here and I’ll send you e mails and contact details etc. should be a really good session!! | 97peter
02/12/2022 21:01 | Thanks 97peter. If Ravi is content with the share price being at all time lows then that would be surprising and disappointing. There needs to be more communication in companies like this. I’m not inclined to invest in a company that puts out 1 communication every 6 months (and even that had to be corrected a few hours later as they couldn’t even manage to get basic details like the ex-divi dates correct). Not impressed so far and will be moving on if things don’t change. | gbcol |
