23/7/2007 23:12 | they charge per subscriber which will be subsidised by the telco i.e bt want consumers to pay fo tv/phone/broadband all on the one bill, it will be hundreds of £milliion market. think uk 20 million homes all paying monthly 10 years down the line thet will take on sky tv. Its the telcos that need to drive it and the best solution will win, be it open standards or microsofttv. middleware is a small piece of the chain. | ericthecat
23/7/2007 20:14 | Ericthecat or others. I'm seriously considering investing back into this. My problem is not with the technology, I think I understand and like what I see and certainly not with the market potential for IPTV, no, it's that I really don't understand the revenue stream. I just can't quite get to grips with how the likes of ORCA will ensure the route to m,arket and the value mechanism's for that income. If anyone can explain or point me to a suitable link I'd very grateful | blinddarts

18/7/2007 12:04 | Ive changed my mind on this company the last few months. I had it down as an absolute dog. However the strong H2 last year and the increasing number of contract announcements this year is suggesting this is not a dog. Its clear IPTV is still in its infancy and ORCA despite last years woeful performance still appears to one of the major players in the middleware market (see colinhy's list above) Any roads net cash at end December 06 was 17p. They also had an investment in an associate in the books at $2.4M (about 3.5p per share). Anyone know anything about this associate? Problem is cash burn was 7p last year. However this year so far looks like it will be a good deal better ie. strong revenue growth and decreasing losses this year. | hugepants
18/7/2007 11:40 | its a very good little company who is run by one of the most knowledgable people in the sector ( Haggai ) Bid value is still minimum 30p. IPTV is still come and ORCA has great channels and great technology. | ericthecat
18/7/2007 10:58 | key issues are the take up of the technology/current cashburn but the company has loads of cash/what value do you put on the 2 in terms of a bid?/talks now 6 months? previous thoughts were over 30p level... | chrisdgb

18/7/2007 07:16 | I am still being patient, this kind of news must be positive. I think there is still a seller in the background trading through Jeffries but with no large buyers given the uncertainty over the takeover we are stuck 'somewhere in nowhere'. Our day will come this stock is cheap. | deep powder

"Without flexible middleware that can easily and predictably increase the number of subscribers and the breadth of services, IPTV operators will not sustain long-term growth or stability," states Steve Hawley, MRG Sr. Analyst.
