Someuwin - I did send a text to the program live highlighting the work of sweetbiotix. I guess it went over their heads. I t never got read out and no call back. A bit of a shame really. I then sent SOH your link.

His response. " This is something which we are aware of. I mentioned in my Feb interview with Directors talk on update on this where I said that work to date has demonstrated our ability to synthesise sweet calorie free natural healthy sugars (SweetBiotix®) with safety and sweetness confirmed by human taste studies and we hope to launch our first generation sugar product later this year/ early 2018."

"This seems to have been missed by shareholders but I will get out a timely reminder as news becomes topical again in this area."

interesting point and yes if I were the management of the new SKIN IPO vehicle I would hold back a good news flow as much as I could to ensure the first 6-12 months had positive new to support initial IPO valuation....never as easy as that but a thought none the less DYOR

Now, we know that the Daily Mail Midas column has covered OPTI before. And today GoFigure has tweeted a link to the mailonline October 2016 OPTI update...

GoFigure Diet‏ @GoFigureDiet · 26 minutes ago

Check out this lovely piece in @MailOnline about our parent company @OptiBiotix and the success of GoFigure range!

I'm just wondering if Midas in the Mail On Sunday this weekend might be doing another OPTI update with a heads-up on SKIN IPO too?

Just wild speculation.

Hi all,
I'll be going Sat. I'm also interested in VRS who say they are probably the only company capable of commercial scale production of 'few layer' Graphene, which in their case they call Nanene. Like OPTI - very cutting edge. They are on the 4th Dragon's Den
Best wishes - Mike

Griffin81, we know that information-flow prior to Skin launch on Wednesday, of necessity, is and will remain scant. Is there some way you can frame a question to SOH that will see us less in the dark as regards AIM activity early Wednesday morning. It does seem, with no way around it, that OPTI shareholders will join in the early scramble for new shares, along with all other potential buyers. There is the matter of exposure. How much might one commit to new shares - without due regard to, or with no advance knowledge of overall exposure when dust settles; if you get my drift. Seems a bit odd to be buying blind as it were. Owenmo

Still feel we will be given some free shares in Skin. May only be a percentage of current holdings but hoping it will happen.

I don't think SKIN will be a slow burner at all.

I expect they are already further ahead than they are letting on at the moment and once they IPO next week the news will start to flow.

If you look at the long tern chart in the header you can see that OPTI five-bagged (from 8p to 40p) in the first year.

I wouldn't be surprised if SKIN puts in an equally impressive first year performance.

Sugar limits for everyday foods such as biscuits, chocolate bars and cereals have been published by public health officials in a bid to make UK children more healthy.

Public Health England is challenging businesses to cut sugar by 20% by 2020, and by 5% this year.

If we could hit £1 before sugar news later on in the year I'd be ecstatic. That is the news I personally believe will be very exciting. Skin too but I think that's more of a slow burner. Every day now there is more news about 'reduced sugar intake' and the big companies are aware of this trend. Nestle for eg recently announced they will cut 10% in all chocolate bars and 30% in their Rowntree sweets range.

Shrewdmole, agree SOH has done us proud and the next few weeks etc could prove to be the foundations of his work to date. Yes, the spin offs starting with skin is a positive step and has come earlier than many expected. With potential products ready in 2018 they could be a real winner as well. I am both excited and quietly confident.

raf,

its been a long period of consolidation and I guess at times weve all become impatient. however, soh has done what he said he would, he told me a long time ago that he could sign a quick deal with any number of partners but not on the terms he wanted. his aim has always been to not lose control of the roll out.

hence its taken a while but we are the IP partner with no manufacturing or distributing costs with major named partners and we get a good piece of the pie!

this imho is only going one way now as they add further patents, partners and products to the portfolio. add in spin offs like skin and sugars and expect a further advance in to possible pharma tie ups so you can see this company being a major in the making. caveat is that will take time but will become based on solid fundamentals.

something I believe but its just gut feeling, is they've done the right thing in getting the microbiome science proven and into the market quite quickly via ingredients/supplements market. it could be that opti become the go to company to identify further strains for other uses.
