Talkingtrades, I have to ask in all seriousness have you ever worked in the commercial sector of a corporate environment? your posts would indicate not? No matter how much a MN wants your product they will never turn up to simply drop their pants and bend over!! As for the response from Anna, it's hardly a carrot being dangled is it, the information wasn't volunteered it was given in response to a question.

Not exactly someuwin. From SOHWe are aware of Coca Cole's interest in this area. Their focus is more on natural sweeteners rather than prebiotics but as investors would expect we have had ongoing discussions with Coca cola and other corporates in this space.

I forwarded on the Coca-Cola article to Anna at Walbrook PR and stated this part of the article seemed to suit Sweetbiotix very well: The Atlanta-based company has issued two challenges: one to the science community, the other to the public. Coke has made a "call to action" for researchers and scientists to find a "naturally sourced, safe, low- or no-calorie compound that creates the taste sensation of sugar when used in beverages and foods." Anna's response: "Hi Stephen has taken note but is already aware of interest in this area through their discussions with Coca Cola and other corporates. Anna"

I Suspect August will be fairly quiet on the European front, holiday time across the continent. Hopefully we'll get a Far East or US tie up while we're waiting!

It is my view that one should not believe what anyone writes on a BB from what they they have understood the bossman to have has said at a meeting (years) ago.
More recently the SBTX issue which some on here have details on from a meeting has been found out to be not worth the print it was written on. Treat everything with a pinch of salt.
PS thought we might have had a RNS today, after the play yesterday.

Yes that was me... at an investor presentation in a small bar near Liverpool Street a few years ago, I asked SOH a direct question using CocaCola and Pepsi as potential beneficiaries and future licencees for the Sweetbiotix products and although he did not flatly refuse he was not keen and stressed, it's not a good fit for OPTI in terms of the message we are trying to give with regards to promoting health.

My view is that where he was going wth this is that although we could address the sugar in these fizzy drinks, they are full of other unhealthy unnatural ingredients.
He was very careful in how he worded taking care not to criticise the companies.

My view is he has integrity and won't sell out his vision for OPTI although of course we would all be instantly significantly richer overnight if an RNS popped up with either of those names as licencees.

It's all hypothetical but of course from a personal view as an investor I would like a deal with both today.

Regards
ODR

From my conversations last year his big issue with big companies is their control and that's what he won't relinquish.

So I wouldn't rule out a big partner but it would definitely have to be on soh terms which may not go down well.

Remember he got burnt on a previous business selling control to a major that never took the product to market.

I've said it before but we benefit from that experience.

IF the sugar work turns out to be successful then one can only assume we will be in demand from major players so it would be interesting to see how that pans out.

Didn't Soh rule out working with big brands like CC when someone asked him, as unhealthy foods didn't fit with OPTIs image- or something like that! Hopefully he's had a re-think!

The thing is with Opti if they announce one tie up with coke or another known brand it will blow the share price sky high.

And who is to say soh isn't in talks with a global brand?

One just doesn't know with soh, how many irons are in the fire and who with.

Last update we had the sugar work was going very well too.

I wonder if CC are aware of Opti
Strange they should do a public call to action like that
They either musnt be aware or they are aware but do do not think Opti have the product

Ferdinand

I hold a decent amount here. Non notifiable and some via leveraged positions.

I only really posted earlier as someone said the MM won't take stock. Totally contradicted my feedback.

My holding does go up and down but if you took a moving average over a rolling 6 month period it is always higher.

I have a business that generates and requires decent funding at times so my varying holding is purely down to cash requirements.

I am very much a strong holder here and look forward to seeing the ground work soh and the board have put in reaping the rewards.

Shrewd- I don't mean to pry but on a few occasions now you've stated that you've bought or put in orders for 100 k or more OPTI shares! Now I've no idea of your financial position but I highly doubt you hold these long term!? Do these shares get traded for 5% or do you plan on keeping hold of them? Obviously it's none of my business but seeing as you've posted your buys on a public forum I thought I'd ask! Either way good luck to you!I hope someone is at least making money from OPTI! Lol

Coca-Cola is asking for the public's help in its pursuit of sugar alternatives. And the company is sweetening the pot.

The Coca-Cola Co. launched two "sweetener challenges" on its HeroX crowdsourcing platform to expand its pursuit of "all-natural low- or no-calorie sugar alternatives."

The Atlanta-based company has issued two challenges: one to the science community, the other to the public. Coke has made a "call to action" for researchers and scientists to find a "naturally sourced, safe, low- or no-calorie compound that creates the taste sensation of sugar when used in beverages and foods."

Earlier this year, Coca-Cola announced plans to reshape its growth strategy and operating model. James Quincey, who became CEO on May 1, said the company will focus on driving revenue going forward by building “consumer-centric” brands – including more low- and no-sugar options and drinks in emerging categories.

Guys I don't know about MM not taking any stock.

Why I do know is I had an order in for 150k when the offer was 63p and my broker said only thing I can get is 50k at just under 65p. Huge premium considering the sells going through.

I will sit tight as some games being played and dip in again if it drops to low 60's.

Somehow I can't see that happening though.

50k now showing at 65p! Can't quite get my head around what's gone on today! The price kept rising but the mm's would barely take any stock! RNS in the morning? We shall see!

Just checked the share trades but nothing showing after hours. But there was selling into the close and the bid went up 0.5p. Are there trades that we do not know about yet or news that's slipped out..
