And... "I look forward to updating the market more fully when we publish the full year results in December." So we know the results Tomorrow will be good, but what will be of more interest will be the forward guidance and news of any potential further contract wins and business developments. | someuwin

01/12/2006 08:43 | Off to a good start. ShareDoc - interesting stuff re UAV/QinetiQ. Massive potential there. | someuwin
30/11/2006 21:02 | Just had a browse through the QuinetiQ website. The demand for unmanned aerial and combat aerial vehicles (UAV/UCAV) is rising sharply. It's a response to the increasing danger from highly mobile threats, and the need to rapidly engage high-value targets of opportunity, especially deep in unfriendly territory and dangerous environments. Amongst many worldwide collaborations Quinetiq have been working with Boeing to develop UAV's, just imagine if OMG's technology (2d3) is incorporated in this !!! I hope that there is detailed information about the joint development work between OMG and Quinetiq with relation to UAV's and hopefully some orders following a successfull demonstration at the Farnborough Air Show. When you think about the scale of contracts that could be announced and the size of the multinational partners that OMG could be working with (as a result of their work with QuinetiQ) It really makes the share price look very cheap at current levels taking into account the profitability expected and the level of cash on the balance sheet. "OMG continues to lead through innovation. Since becoming Chief Executive of OMG in May 2005, I have implemented a number of initiatives focused on leveraging our existing technology and diversifying into new markets." "The UAV market is set to be worth over $10 billion in the next 10 years. Current UAVs cost in the region of $250,000 to fit out with video equipment, yet the quality of the images captured is well below standard on a par with cheap CCTV footage. Our expertise will contribute significantly to this growing market," Bolton concluded. | sharedoc

30/11/2006 10:53 | Hi all I'm new to this share, but am very impressed with what I have seen. I'm sure its been talked abut before on here, but with Microsoft Virtual Earth competing with Google Earth to provide the most detailed 3D street level imaging (of the whole world) surely if OMG get even a small percentage of work from these projects the share price would go ballistic? Or is this already happening? Any comments? | someuwin
30/11/2006 10:02 | The results are fast approaching, can't wait to hear about futher developments of their technology in the defence sector / joint venture with QuinetiQ | sharedoc
27/11/2006 15:59 | Dec 7th aint that far away, could get a nice little rise pre results. LONDON (AFX) - OMG PLC, Oxford Metrics Group, said it expects profits for the full-year to be significantly ahead of market expectations following strong trading in the second half. CEO Nick Bolton said: "Revenues are slightly ahead of our expectations and the positive effect on profit has been more pronounced due to a combination of strong gross margins and continuing cost control. This has been achieved whilst increasing the level of investment in promising new market opportunities in defence and in street-level geospatial imaging." The technology group, which provides image understanding products for the entertainment, defence, life science and engineering industries, said it will announce its full-year results on Dec 7. | dynamix
27/11/2006 14:32 | This is just the start, there's still the lucrative defence contracts to come, 40p will be a very distant memory in a couple of months time. | sharedoc |
