PRODUCTION ANTICIPATED SHORTLY AT MARACAS VANADIUM PROJECT
July 09, 2014
Final construction CAPEX US $241 million vs US $235 estimated in PEA
Symbol: LGO (TSX.V)
TORONTO, July 09, 2014 /CNW/ - Largo Resources Ltd. ("Largo" or the "Company") reports that feed to the kiln at the Company's Maracas Vanadium Project has been ongoing, however, certain minor technical adjustments at various areas of the plant have required intermittent interruptions to operations.
Mining of ore, the crushing system and the milling and beneficiation plant are all operational and over 10,000 tonnes of vanadium concentrate have now been stockpiled to feed to the kiln.
The kiln system has required several adjustments, mostly mechanical in nature, relating to the feed system, electrostatic precipitator (dust collection system) and burner management system which have required short-term breaks in the feed of material.
Largo is pleased to report that despite these temporary feed disruptions, material has been successfully processed through the kiln during its operating time and has been building up and retained in the leaching system over the past weeks with approximately 3,000 tonnes of iron ore by-product having now also been stockpiled. .... ....

For those who follow Ocean Wilsons (OCN), you will be pleased to know that the ores will be shipped through Tecon Salvador, Bahia.

Translation:
Brasco studying the installation of offshore logistical support bases in the Equatorial Margin
16/06/2014
In an interview, the new executive director Gilberto Cardarelli spoke of the plans of the group Wilson, mentioning briefly Odebrecht, Transocean and Sevan Drilling.
Gilberto Cardarelli took command in May of Brasco, the company of the Wilson Sons group focused on offshore logistics. In an exclusive interview with Energy Today, the executive said that the company now more focused on operations in the Santos and Campos basins, has plans to attend oil companies in Uruguay, Espirito Santo, and especially in the Equatorial Margin. "It is in that direction that we want to extend our activities," he says.

What are the main goals of your administration?
The objective is to continue the work already being done and pursue new market opportunities. I see Brasco with great growth potential. We face many possibilities related to the 11th round of the ANP when new opportunities were opened in Equatorial Margin. And it is in that direction that we want to extend our activities beyond what we already have in Guanabara Bay.

How is the progress of construction of the new terminal at Caju, purchased last year?
We are increasing the number of berths to be able to attend five vessels simultaneously. It is expected that the works will be completed in mid-2015, possibly in June.

In addition to expanding your infrastructure with the new terminal, what other factors will allow Brasco to meet the increased demand for logistical support?
We always had a very strong focus on attending customer service operations in the Santos basin, Campos and the southern border of the Espírito Santo basin.
Our bases are strategically located to meet this demand, which will grow substantially in the coming years. And, by having private bases, we have more agility to move materials, loads and tugboats. We do not suffer from the problems that eventually affect public ports.

Does the company have plans to build new bases in the Norte Fluminense or Espirito Santo?
We are exploring all alternatives, including the Port of Acu and Espirito Santo. We are also studying the possibility of attending operators in Uruguay.

Who are the clients of Brasco today?
The principle IOCs: Statoil, Chevron, Total, Queiroz Galvão, Repsol, Anadarko and OGPar.

What are the main opportunities and bottlenecks in offshore logistics in Brazil today?
I see one of the problems as the long period spent without further bidding rounds for exploration blocks. Today, we feel the reflections that say; exploration activities will decrease markedly. But we believe that now, with the possibility of having another round in early 2015, in addition to the heating of the Equatorial Margin, we will have a resumption of offshore logistics operations.

Is Brazil prepared to meet the increase in logistic operations offshore of the country?
I can speak for Brasco. We are fully prepared. We have worked even in the most isolated regions of the country and we have always managed to mobilize quickly. Besides the infrastructure we already have in the bay of Guanabara, if necessary, we can operationalize a new base of support in a short time.

Does the company plan to install bases in the Equatorial Margin?
We are studying alternatives in Belém (PA), in Amapá and Ceará to meet the future demands. Because of the distance between the blocks, we are analyzing more than one base in the region.

According to the chronogram of exploration activities, when do you believe that you will need to have a new base operating in the Margin?
We believe that at the end of 2015.

The market estimates that Petrobras will contract between 15 and 20 berths for support vessels by 2020. How do you evaluate this number?
This can happen depending on future demand from Petrobras. From what we have seen of the bids and tenders underway, there is already a demand for approximately ten berths. But up till now this need has not materialized.

These bids are relative to the Campos, Santos and Espirito Santo basins. Demands for the Equatorial Margin are not covered by these processes ...
No. Who is acting more in the Margin are the IOCs, who have already begun informal consultations on the possibility of being attended in the region.

Q2 numbers are now available for viewing.

As suspected June figures are not pretty reading :( :(

Piedro, interesting to see that Maersk Lins destination is Algeciras ES, 1st time I've seen this from RG, is this another new route?

What are the MOVS numbers looking like for July? If it wasn't for 2 long stoppages already at RG I'd say July was very much on the up compared with June.

Strange to have Bbc Parana docked for 4 days!!
